Let us quiet our hearts across this nation. Let us pray.
Almighty, most glorious, omnipotent, omniscient, LORD, King, Creator, Lamb of God, Emmanuel, Jehovah El Sabaoth, Jehovah El Nissi, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Shalom, Jehovah El Roi, Ancient of Days, Light of the world, our Refuge and Strength.
RIGHTEOUS TEACHERS
LORD God, we pray for our children. We see where there is a concerted effort to turn the hearts of our children away from the True and Living God. And so, with that in mind, the curriculum of our schools have become infiltrated, infiltrated by content that are not based on righteousness. We pray, Almighty God, that You will raise up righteous teachers; teachers who will not be afraid or ashamed of the gospel of Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Living God…teachers who will be bold, as Esther was bold…teachers who will be bold, as Daniel was bold…teachers who will be bold, as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were bold…raise up righteous teachers: righteous male teachers, righteous female teachers.
Yes, we know that we have suffered from a mass exodus of a number of our teachers over the past months, and over the past years as well, but LORD, we thank You that You are raising up a remnant among the teachers across this island of Jamaica…a remnant that will love the LORD…a remnant that will love righteousness.
LORD, we thank You that that indomitable spirit that You activated upon the midwives in the time of Pharaoh, at the birth of Moses; that indomitable spirit, we decree and declare that You are raising up and activating, and placing upon our teachers, so that the fear of God will come upon them. They will ensure that any edict, any dictate, any law, any instruction coming from the Authorities that are not in the best interests of the children will not be embraced.
FORTIFY THE JTA
LORD God, we lift up the Jamaica Teachers’ Association in the same breath, and we pray, O God, for Godly leadership. Yes, the current president who identifies with the Church, we pray, O God, that You will visit him. You will visit him and those who are a part of the team working alongside him and, by extension, every member of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association.
We have seen, over the years, where there have been plans to dismantle that entity — the JTA — but we pray, in the name of Jesus, that every plot of the forces of darkness to dismantle the JTA, so that the teachers can be controlled by the State and would not have a leg on which to stand, would lose their independence and their ability to bargain, their ability to also push back against the state; that all such plans, O God, be now cancelled, in Jesus’ name. We decree and declare that those who are in the leadership of the JTA that, LORD, the fear of God will come upon them, and as the fear of God comes upon them, the fear of God also will come upon the entire cohort of leadership, and the entire body of the JTA, in the mighty name of Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
FOREIGN TEACHERS
We decree and declare that the plans to bring foreign teachers into the system, that Father, this plan will fail. Of course, we know that we will need a few skillsets here and there, expertise that may not be resident in Jamaica—we may from time to time require that input from elsewhere. But Father, we decree and declare that at no time, in this island of Jamaica, will foreign teachers outnumber the local teachers. And we decree and declare also that the local teachers will always be in the majority, at least three to one, in the name of Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
And these local teachers, we decree and declare, O God, that the fear of God will always be upon them as this nation turns back to the True and Living God, so that the teachers, like the midwives in the time of Moses, they will stand for righteousness. They will ensure that our children are protected and their best interests preserved.
In the mighty, munificent, wonderful name of Jesus, we pray.
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
