Jamaica’s under-15 football team concluded an unbeaten campaign to clinch the Concacaf Boys’ U15 Championship League B title over the weekend, defeating Puerto Rico 2–0 at the Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium in Aruba.
The young Reggae Boyz showcased their prowess from the outset, topping Group D with commanding performances. In their opening match, they secured a 3–0 victory over Belize, followed by a 2–0 win against hosts Aruba. Their final group match saw them defeat Curaçao 2–0, ensuring their progression to the knockout stage with a perfect record.
Advancing to the semi-finals, Jamaica faced Caribbean rivals Trinidad and Tobago. The match proved to be a high-scoring affair, with Jamaica emerging victorious 6–2. Kelvin Brown led the charge with two goals, while Kenrick Brown, Samuel Taylor, Davion Clarke, and Carlondo Morris also found the back of the net, propelling Jamaica into the final.
In the championship match against Puerto Rico, Jamaica took an early lead in the 2nd minute through Tevin Savage. Despite several close calls, including a remarkable free-kick save by goalkeeper Jaheime Gray, the Reggae Boyz maintained their advantage. In the 71st minute, Kelvin Brown sealed the victory with a header from a precise Kyle Hussey cross, securing the 2–0 win and the League B title.
Coach Andrew Peart commended the team’s growth throughout the tournament, highlighting their discipline, teamwork, and consistency. Many players were also a part of the squad that won the Caribbean Football Union U15 Boys’ Challenge Series title last year, underscoring the strength and continuity within Jamaica’s youth football system.
With back-to-back regional titles, this group of young Reggae Boyz is poised to transition into higher age-group teams and eventually the senior ranks, continuing to build Jamaica’s reputation as a rising force in youth football across the Caribbean and the wider Concacaf region.
