Backyard gardener J.A. sent us this pic of a plantain tree. It was accompanied with the following note: “About two months ago, I picked a bunch of plantains from another tree that had more “hands”. From the size of the trunk, it was evident that that tree had received a lot of water, much of it from the sky.
But give God the glory, this one is an unexpected bunch, so I’ll try to ensure that I water it well while it’s putting out fruit. I’ll be monitoring it more closely because I had kind of neglected it, thinking the summer heat would have killed everything!”
