The poem (Buggery) Law poem was inspired by the topic of the impending decision regarding moves by the Jamaican government to repeal the Buggery Law.
Regardless of whether or not this is accomplished, there will always be a point of disagreement between scientists and theologians, perpetual tension between the natural and moral law.
The wide acceptance of corrupt ideals regarding sexual deviance and freedom has seen the dysfunction and downward spiral of the health of many societies, resulting in fragmented family structures, education, and mandates of other social institutions.
In discussing this topic, what comes to mind are the promotion of comprehensive sex education for children, the promotion of children’s rights to sex, and self-identification of alternate sexual orientations.
The belief that humanity is the determinant of right and wrong makes room for perspective, preference, and the justification of actions that yield devastating consequences for the global society. As profoundly stated by the renowned North Korean activist and intellectual Yeonmi Park in a recent interview, “Freedom without meaning and virtue is anarchy.”
The fight of those who aim to repeal the law is like one of deceived children; children who believe that they are fighting for themselves and their people and liberty when they are truly fighting against them and their flourishing.
I believe it is the responsibility of those who know the truth to pray for and disseminate it with reason and wisdom for the sake of the ignorant.
I reiterate that whether or not the Buggery Law is repealed, the moral law remains and cannot be rescinded
Whatever our opposition, God’s sovereign will will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
(BUGGERY) LAW
“Law.
Existent since
The Genesis
Of the physical,
Of time, space, and matter.
Law.
Governing both
Physics and physicality,
Atoms and humanity,
Chemistry and biological –
Attraction.
Opposites attract,
Bonds form,
Two become one
In the Creation of
Something new.
Nothing new needs be created
After Creation’s completion;
It is finished
“And it was good.”
Humanity, creation,
Governed by the external,
From the Eternal, the Divine;
Earth and living dust
Governed by the Law
Of One Greater –
The Creator
Of their function;
Purpose;
Design.
To oppose the Law
Is to oppose oneself;
To make an entrance of exit
Is to misuse autonomy,
To abuse anatomy,
To welcome dysfunction.
Law is not man’s creation.
The two coexist –
Man returns to the dust;
Law will last as long as
The Earth it
Governs.
A man may alter his preference,
A king, his thoughts—
As his breath goes forth,
His thoughts perish.
But like gravity,
Law remains…
…Unchanging.”
