The practice of witchcraft in the music industry: Be careful of what you listen to!

Dear Editor,

Proverbs 18:21 states that life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Satan, a beautiful and music-filled figure, has influenced artists and singers to produce ungodly music.

Music is important in life since it inspires dancing, singing, and relationships, but it is

critical to be mindful of what we watch and listen to, as our soul absorbs what we

consume. Good eyes, as stated in Matthew 6:22, are the lamp of the body, ensuring a full body of light.

Today’s musicians often sing about sex, depression, suicide, murder, lies, drugs, deceit, and money. They often lack recognition of God’s ability to help them, and so their music leaves us feeling down, violent, or promiscuous. As Matthew 6:22 states, good eyes are the lamp of the body.

Many of the most popular local and international singers, DJs and rap musicians use demonic-inspired symbols in their videos and songs, as well as potentially blaspheming witchcraft. This can lead to listeners agreeing with dark content, potentially causing destruction in their lives.

Do we honestly ask ourselves whether we feel better or worse after we listen to these

lyrics? Are our lives better or worse? Please remember that if we are not feeding our

spirit man with the word of God, then we fight our spiritual battles from a weakened

position. Do you know the verse Ephesians 6:12 – For we wrestle not against flesh and

blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of

this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Acts 17:30-31 states that “The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he

commands all people everywhere to repent because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this, he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”

The Bible also states in 1 Peter 5 vs 8, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your

enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to

devour.”

I am,

Maaya Rodriques
