Dear Editor,
What is the most important reason for voting? Should I vote because certain roads have not been repaired in decades? Should I vote because garbage is just collected once per month in some communities? Should I vote because it is a family tradition to vote for a certain party?
Psalm 45:6-7 shares with us the most important reason in the sight of God for voting:
“Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”
This is a prophecy of the Kingdom of God, ruled over by His Son, Jesus Christ. “Sceptre” is a rod that a king holds to represent his authority as king or the right that he has to rule over his kingdom. “Right sceptre” symbolises the rule of Jesus Christ as being righteous in the sight of His Father in heaven. “Thou lovest righteousness and hatest wickedness.” Therefore what is of greatest concern in the sight of God, the Father, for any government throughout the world is that it should consist of men and women who love what is right in His sight and who hate what is wicked in His sight.
So then, what is the most important reason for voting? It is that we vote for a government that is made up of men and women, who love righteousness and hate wickedness.
The number one question to ask yourselves is this: “Do these particular representatives of the people love righteousness and hate wickedness?” Have these particular representatives been promoting “gender identity” and “the right to love and sexual expression” among same-sex couples? Do they promote “the right to legislative protection” of same-sex couples and proposed constitutional changes, which are based on what has been happening in other countries in the Caribbean, the European Union, the U.K., Canada and the U.S.A., in which the buggery laws have been abolished, or same-sex marriage has been legalised?
Would God want us to vote for these particular representatives to form a new government, when God considers “gender identity”, “the right to love and sexual expression” among same-sex couples as abominable? Would He want us to vote for these individuals when “the right to legislative protection” of same-sex couples, and proposed constitutional changes to abolish the law that forbids buggery, is the promotion of wickedness, rather than the promotion of righteousness?
