Globally, the United States is seen as the place of inspiration and aspiration. It is a country of immigrants, legal and illegal. Billions worldwide break hearts and limbs to head to the United States, their ultimate destination, their heaven on earth. Many have hopped, skipped, and jumped from country to country, even changing passports and identities, doing whatever is necessary to con US immigration to let them in.
Every year, hundreds of Jamaican farmers, teachers, healthcare professionals, and others pack up local careers and head to the US, where higher salaries and better working conditions are promised, if not delivered.
Countless others employ illegal means to make the trip, braving wide open oceans, reptile-infested swamps, and mountainous terrains just to get there. They join millions of undocumented workers, barely surviving for decades, while playing hide and seek with immigration officials.
Parents have left beloved children at home in far less than ideal circumstances, with uncaring relatives or to fend for themselves, while they pursue the American Dream.
Too many children have been raised on barrels and remittances and not the love of a reliable caregiver, because of the unrelenting desire to migrate to the States. Too many families have been splintered and communities and professions shattered by migration, primarily to the United States.
Global studies show that migrants sending remittances from the United States back to their families at home is a worthwhile occupation, as large numbers of people survive solely on this income. But these hard-earned monies sometimes rip families apart and deliver the death blow to vital relationships.
Large acreages of family land in the deep rural parts of Jamaica have been left under bush and totally neglected as families migrate to greener pastures for what they claim to be good.
Arriving in United States territory can be a rude awakening for immigrants who are shocked into the reality that the hard work they refused to do at home triples in the foreign country. Many are forced to hold down three or four jobs in order to make ends meet, stave off regret, and maintain the illusion of prosperity.
Working to maintain credit is different from working to amass cash. Bills must be paid, credit scores must be kept high, families at home must be supported, and the pretence of prosperity must be maintained.
Many who grew up in church are forced to forsake the fellowship as US jobs have no regard for God. The relentless pursuit of the American Dream is idolatry in the lives of way too many.
The land of the free and the home of the brave has been marketed through mass media and cinema as the place of abundant opportunities, larger-than-life lifestyles, the unhinged pursuit of lust, freedom of choice, and infinite success.
The star-spangled banner has also been waved over many nations as a symbol of Christianity, achievement, morality, wealth, and good governance.
The self-appointed international police is well-known for starting wars, entering conflicts, deploying peace and humanitarian missions, and determining right from wrong.
This same United States has raised its flag over embassies to declare its commitment to unrighteousness. It is the main force behind the global push for nations to decriminalise buggery, and accept gay marriage, transgenderism, and abortion on demand.
This nation has imposed sanctions against others that have resisted the LGBTQI agenda in order to force them to go the way of the reprobates.
Understand this: the people of the US crave the right to murder their babies. They took to the streets to protest the upending of the Roe versus Wade precedence when it was reversed by the Supreme Court under former President Donald Trump. Since political talking points are developed after extensive canvassing of the population to identify the issues that matter most to ordinary folk, abortion on demand is the desire of the majority. So important is this issue that it is now the non-negotiable promise firmly positioned at the top of its largest, most prestigious, and most powerful platform, the presidential election.
This United States which was the bastion of Christian faith and righteousness has arrived at a place where it is the chief global marketer of rebellion against God.
With its history baked in blood, brutality, and gore, this once powerful nation has come full circle. Despite the presence of American Indians on large swathes of lands, mainly bordering Mexico, the story of the United States really began when hordes of criminals were evicted from Europe and shipped across the Atlantic to fend for themselves.
Although Christian missionaries arrived early in the game, they also joined forces with their countrymen to murder the Indians and capture territories with the Bible in one hand and the bullet in the other.
Many of these early migrants were rabid racists, and they readily partnered with European slave traders to oppress imported African labourers even while they conquered the Indians and nature to build a country of 50 states. It was the beginning of a fractious nation, with each state having its own governance structure and varying interpretations of an often amended constitution under a federal government headed by a president.
With all of its many wrongs, the United States got many things right. It has been the main force of Christian evangelism across the world and was afforded much grace as it carried out this mission. Under grace, the US rose in stature, wealth, and power. Its currency was to become the global money standard, its industries boomed, and its army was one of the most feared globally.
The turmoil at its early beginning, bubbling beneath the bountiful economy, never really subsided over centuries. What the US is now displaying as its skirt is scandalously lifted is its duplicity and its unrighteous core.
The US has been the most powerful Western voice, influencing or neutralising nations across the world. Its many allies have benefitted from its position at the top of the global structure of power, wealth, and politics.
Developing nations pattern and take instructions from this flourishing giant-sized economy and literally pay homage to its dictates and decisions readily.
But the persistent push by the US against Godliness in the latter years has placed it under divine judgement. Neither its money, military might, Kamala Harris, nor Donald Trump can save this unrepentant country from the Hand of God.
This nation, and the many others who follow after it, will not survive the judgement of God.
As God pours out the spirit of knowledge, many are coming to terms with the fact that the United States is fallen and is facing the divine wrath it has earned. Sin has its rewards, and it will be paid in full.
Those who bank on this nation, trusting in its former glory, its allies, and their chariots and horses, will find out fast that God is still the owner of the earth and everything in it. He is still in full control and is the final arbitrator, not the US, its plastic prosperity, nor its newly elected president.
