‘Silent Tears’ from Jabez

Gospel singer Jabez recently released his latest single, ‘Silent Tears,’ and already it has made a big impact on gospel music lovers.

A soulful rendition, it delves into the pain and heartache many face and emerges with words of victory, highlighting triumph over pain.

Sharing on the inspiration behind the song with Freedom Come Rain, Jabez Provest said Silent Tears came about as a result of the many struggles, not only what he faced but others too.

“With many struggles that you go through, people see your glory, but they don’t know your story. I am going through a process. A lot of people are going through their own process in life; you put on a nice suit, and people say you look nice, but they don’t know, nothing of what you have been through,” he stated.

Jabez said since its release on YouTube, he sung it at a concert  and two ladies were just crying. After his performance, he reached out to them, and then one told him her son died in Pennsylvania; the other was also facing loss.

“This song is for those who have been through pain, through hurt, and it is meant to keep hope alive. I want them to know that no matter what they are going through, there is still hope,” he shared on the song.

After sharing the YouTube link on his social media page, one lady, Charmaine Thomas, was so touched, she wrote:

“Pastor Jabez Provost, why? I’ve just listened to this song like ten times. Thank God, I look nothing like what I have been through. I’ve been motherless and fatherless; I’ve been lied to. In 2007, someone called immigration and made a report about me. In 2008, I sold everything I owned in Jamaica, just to start fresh in the USA. I was thrown out twice with my son. In all my life, I have been thrown out seven times. I’ve been homeless, I’ve been abused, I have been a victim of domestic violence, and I’ve been a victim of rape. I’ve been undocumented in this country, and my journey to become a United States citizen was filled with tears and scars. I’ve lost some friends along the way, too. It was in those moments of my life that I’ve learnt to lean and depend on Jesus! Today, I’m a miracle right in front of your eyes. Yes, today I am victorious only because of those silent tears. Yes, I had my own mountains that I had to climb. How many of us are trying to climb some mountains? Yet they seem so impossible; I’m here to tell someone not to quit. God is already working it out for you, like he did for me. Please listen to this song, “Silent Tears,” and let it minister to our hearts today.”

Jabez, who has been off the Jamaican gospel scene for some time, said he has regained his passion and enthusiasm and is back in the studio and ready to put out a lot more songs. He promised that fans will hopefully be seeing him on stage in the “not too distant future.”
