Dear Editor,
Our Father, you, before time, ordained that your daughter would be named Grace. I celebrate that through this tension surrounding her school tour, she will better understand your call on her life. Grace is also called Spice, not only because it is her singing name, but also because of her impact on relationships and the atmosphere around her. May she take hold of the truth that she has been called to be your salt and should she not step into this, then your word – Matthew 5:13 “if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men” (New King James Version) – could become her song and dance.
God of Grace and mercy, hear your daughters’ cry. Like Eve, we women through the years have looked for a deeper understanding of Yahweh and self. We have allowed Satan to trick us. But God, thank you for the blood and love of Jesus Christ which call us all back to you. In our darkest times when we feel naked and afraid, and would want to hide, you reach out to all whose heart yearns after you. Thank you that your grace will reclothe us; you will take us to a place where we can work through and understand who we are in you and we will bear good fruit.
Jah, Let the words of our mouth, and the meditation of our heart, be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, our strength, and our redeemer (Psalm 19:14). AMEN
I am
F. Barrett
