I want to begin by sharing a recent dream, because Scripture shows us that the Lord often uses pictures to help us recognise what He is already saying through His Word.
In the dream, I was in a house with people who felt like family, though not by blood. The atmosphere seemed familiar and safe, yet it was clear that something was no longer working as it should. In one room, the floor had begun to rot. It had not collapsed, and we could still walk on it, but parts had deteriorated enough for us to clearly see beneath.
Under the floor was a river—almost still, yet unmistakably alive, it was fresh, pure, and crystal clear. There was no sense of danger. Obviously, the water was not the problem; the river had always been there. The issue was that the structure above it could no longer carry what it was meant to carry in order to remain intact.
At the same time, in another part of the house, water was leaking from above. With walls swelling and paint bubbling, water was pooling onto the floor. Again, the water itself was not destructive. It was simply more than the structure had the capacity to carry.
I remember thinking, “We can manage this for now, but not for long.”
Eventually, we left the house because it was time to move on—not in panic and not because it had collapsed. But before leaving, I took my personal book with me. It carried the record, revelation, and direction the Lord had been giving me.
KAIROS MOMENT FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST
As I sat with the Lord about this dream, it became clear that this word was not only for my personal application but was also a word to the Body of Christ in a Kairos moment.
Every move of God requires a corresponding posture and readiness from His people. What we are seeing is not the failure of the river. It was always meant to be connected to the structure so that growth and maturity could continue as the river flowed. The problem now was disconnection.
Scripture reminds us that there is only one foundation that can carry what God is building. “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11 NKJV.
Many structures within the Church were formed from sincere obedience and good intent, and they served their purpose well. But they were never meant to remain spiritually static. Structures that are not maintained and aligned with increasing maturity eventually lose the capacity to carry new flow. When God’s timing advances but posture does not, strain follows.
Jesus spoke of this when He taught about wineskins. New wine is not poured into old wineskins, not because the wine is wrong or the wineskin is useless, but because it no longer has the capacity to stretch with what God is releasing now. This is not condemnation; it is revelation and invitation to re-align.
Alignment in this season will not be achieved through effort, strategy, or reform alone. What God builds and sustains is never established by human strength or ingenuity, but by His Spirit. “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6 NKJV.
PAST EFFECTIVENESS DOESN’T GUARANTEE PRESENT ALIGNMENT
This requires honesty. Past effectiveness does not guarantee present alignment, whether personally or corporately. The Lord is not withdrawing His river. He is calling His people into renewed posture, understanding, and identity so that what He is releasing can be carried without loss.
This call to alignment is not a reduction of mandate but a restoration of order. From the beginning, Scripture shows us that identity precedes authority. “So God created man in His own image… Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply… have dominion.’” Genesis 1:27–28 NKJV.
This word is ultimately about the kind of Church the Lord is building in this hour. Jesus said, “I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” A church that cannot be prevailed against is not defined by activity but by alignment.
God is preparing a people who can carry authority, life, and healing without mixture or contradiction.
OBEDIENCE OVER BUSYNESS
This is alignment for sustainable flow and stewardship. At the heart of it is a restoration of sonship. God is restoring dependence, not as weakness, but as trust rooted in His sovereignty and our role as stewards. Obedience is being restored over busyness, not because God desires less fruit, but because He desires good, sustainable life.
Scripture describes this life as being like a tree planted by the waters, spreading its roots by the river, not fearing heat or drought, and continuing to bear good fruit (Jeremiah 17:7–8 NKJV). The flow of living water from within is promised to us, but the question is whether the inner life is ordered in a way that allows that flow to bring life. “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38 NKJV
This is why many are experiencing deeper internal work in this season. God is not only addressing our outward behaviour; He is going back to the root, restoring truth where things untrue have settled and limited our lives. In this process, forms of godliness that disconnect people from living communion with God are also being exposed.
Scripture tells us that what is built on Christ will be tested. “Each one’s work will become clear… for it will be revealed by fire.” 1 Corinthians 3:12–15 NKJV. This fire is not rejection of the person but refinement of what cannot endure, so what is precious and true may remain.
When Scripture speaks of Christ returning for a spotless Bride, it is not speaking of performance or perfection. It is speaking of an undivided, aligned people. This alignment is preparation for responsibility. The Lord is not tearing down His house; He is overturning what is out of order to restore true order, power, and honour so that His Church may arise, faithfully make disciples of nations, and steward the earth as sons of God.
The response the Lord is asking for is not self-correction but yielded attentiveness that listens for the Holy Spirit’s revelation and responds in obedience to His voice as He brings alignment in His timing.
This work begins on the inside, and it is for all of us.
