Beneath a video capturing her watery baptism, Dr. Terri-Karelle Johnson shared an enthusiastic post:
“I did a thing! I did a HUGE thing! I did the most COLOSSAL thing!”
Declaring herself an ardent follower of Christ who has always submitted to Him, Dr. Johnson admitted that she had never previously provided public evidence of her inward conviction—baptism. That changed as she took the significant step, radiating joy and determination to continue her walk with Christ.
“Last year, my word for the year was ‘The Word.’ I wanted to deepen my understanding of Scripture. For 2025, my word was ‘Baptism,’ signifying rebirth. Don’t play with God—when you decide to seek Him, He makes Himself known!
“Baptism is the best decision I’ve ever made. The most beautiful ‘project’ I’ve ever completed. The boldest declaration I’ve ever spoken. The deepest self-care I’ve ever experienced. The best ambassadorship I could ever receive,” she gushed, reflecting on the transformative experience.
Reflecting on the profound impact of her decision, Dr. Johnson remarked that she approached the baptismal waters with flaws and brokenness but emerged renewed—with peace, purpose, and a heart made whole. She emphasised that no achievement, title, stage, or platform could ever compare to this sacred moment.
This sentiment carries weight, given her extraordinary accomplishments. From winning the Miss Jamaica World title in 2005 with her natural hair to earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in Cuba and ascending as a master MC and communications practitioner who has hosted over 500 events, Dr. Johnson has achieved remarkable professional success.
Yet, amidst her many accolades, her greatest achievement is falling in love with Jesus.
