The Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) said it is aware of a fraudulent message in circulation that claims it is granting financial assistance through a “Bank of Jamaica Support Grant”.
The government entity has since issued a statement on its website advising persons that it is not associated with this initiative.
The fraudulent message encourages Jamaicans 18 years and older to, “hurry now and apply” for the support fund which is sponsored by the Bank of Jamaica. It said interested individuals/businesses are invited to apply.
The BOJ is asking anyone who can identify the source or has been solicited by this fraudulent message to report the matter to the police. The Bank noted too, that grants and scholarships are generally publicize on it’s official website.
