But Seek Ye First The Kingdom Of God

I came to Kingston out of a desire to work and study to further myself. I’m career oriented because of what I noticed in my local community where I grew up. Most girls would become pregnant and that would be it!

I wanted better for myself. I wanted to make my mother proud of me. She cried when I got my CXC grades. As I was telling her all that I wanted to become, she burst into tears lamenting that she couldn’t afford to send me to university and I said “don’t cry mama, I will work and send myself to university.” Many things happened in between to set me back, but God!

In 2009 when I was searching for a Master’s programme, God said to me “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Early morning on Ash Wednesday February 2009, the Lord visited me and told me He has called me as a prophet to the nations. I prophesied for the first time in church. I did not know that it would happen so quickly! During worship the power of God fell on me and I started shaking uncontrollably. I fell to the ground and began prophesying: the word out of my mouth then was, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”

They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules. The church further came against me. If the Lord’s mighty hand was not upon me for good I’m not sure what would have happened to me!

I began asking Him exactly what does this mean and even went searching up the meaning. Then He spoke to me again. He repeated the scripture and then began to speak its meaning to me. He said, “My children have been taught, deceived to do things in the reverse. They do everything before seeking me. They seek for wealth, riches money, house, spouse, cars, children before they seek for me. They spend their lives seeking those things, some even die trying to find those things and they never find me because they didn’t seek me first. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” If you seek me, I will give you everything, even what you didn’t ask for. Go and study my Word and I will add to you. So I obeyed the Lord! I said, ok Lord, I’m gonna take you at your word! So I went to Bible School. I went to Jamaica Theological Seminary (JTS) and they said they only offered a BSc. I had already earned my BSc. a double Major in Management Studies and International Relations at the University of the West (UWI), but I said, “ok Lord, if this is what you want Lord I will obey you.”

I sold my car and used all the money to pay for a year of Bible School. Two weeks into the programme, I was called my then dean, Dr. Delano Palmer (I had no prior knowledge of Dr. Palmer). He asked someone to find me because He said God spoke to Him about a file he had on his desk. There were three files and when he took up the 1st 2 he heard nothing, but as so soon as he picked up mine which was at the bottom, God spoke and told him to find me and introduce me to the masters programme at Caribbean Graduate School of Theology (CGST). I didn’t know anything about CGST. Dr. Palmer arranged for my tuition to be transferred to CGST. The amount I paid at JTS (150,000) could not suffice for the Masters programme which was over a million JA dollars. The Lord spoke to a young lady who at that time was not yet saved, but who I was witnessing to and who was watching my spiritual journey with God, and she contacted me to tell me that God told her to invest in me, and she said she was happy to pay my school fees. I said what? She said yes and she did. She used her life savings and I paid her back 25,000 every month  and was going home with only $2500,  but the Lord kept me!

In 2011 I obtained the Justice Neville Clarke Award for sound Christian character academic excellence and involvement in social concerns.

I finished the Masters programme in 2017 with distinction, the 2nd highest GPA was the salutatorian. I was also awarded the student most involved in faculty life.

Since God’s call to seek Him first in  August 2009, He has entrusted me with the following:

October 2009 – A Honda CRV was delivered to me free of cost. I didn’t buy it; it was given to me.

2011 – He added to our marriage a beautiful baby girl and seminary award.

2013 – Holy Living Christian Ministries  was birthed

2015 – He gave us a beautiful home

2017 – Masters with Distinction and Ordained Reverend.

April 2021 – confirmation of the office of the prophet and the prophetic mantle

June 2021 – Professor of Ministry and Evangelism qualifications

2024 – Confirmation of the Seer’s mantle

2026 – Doctorate of Business Administration

The Lord added Seer, Prophet, Rev. Dr. Professor Karel Dawes. I didn’t ask Him for any of these, I simply obeyed Him to seek Him first.

Not because of my titles that he has so graciously given, I am His bond slave, only because of His goodness and His wonderful works to the children of men. Praise the Lord God Almighty!
