Christian Broadcasting Network’s founder Pat Robertson passes away at the age of 93

Pat Robertson, a well-known anchor and founder of the long-running Christian Broadcasting Network programme “The 700 Club,” a prominent conservative Christian broadcaster and former presidential contender, has passed away at the age of 93.

Robertson passed on Thursday morning in his Virginia Beach home, according to a statement from CBN News. Four children, 14 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren remain to carry on Robertson’s legacy.

According to CBN, Pat Robertson devoted his life to proclaiming the gospel, providing for the underprivileged, and teaching the next generation.

Pat possessed a thirst for knowledge of the Lord and a desire to spread the good news of Jesus’ love and faithfulness to all people. His deepest wish was for everyone to come to know Jesus.

Robertson founded the Christian Broadcasting Network, or CBN in 1960 and its flagship programme, “The 700 Club,” remained a regular fixture on national television into the 21st century.

Begun as a local television station in Portsmouth, Virginia, CBN’s programming can now be viewed globally.
