2 Chronicles 20:1–30 tells us about the tribe of Judah that faced a great problem with some powerful armies. They came to wage war against Jehoshaphat, King of Judah. Despite the tribe’s limited capabilities and capacity, they won the battle. How did this happen? They never fought on their strength; they sought the LORD first. Jehoshaphat’s response was wise because he knew the only hope they had was in God. It was good that they recognised it was not their battle, so the prayer warriors went ahead of the army and praised God despite their situation; the LORD heard and answered their cries, and the enemies were defeated.
Never underestimate the power of prayer and fasting; these are your greatest weapons in every battle. As we seek God, it enables us to recognise that the battle is not ours but the LORD’s, and that our victory is released through praise and worship.
I leave this verse from Romans 12:19 with you: “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: For it is written, vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the LORD.” So, trust in the LORD and let Him give You your battle plan to defeat your enemy.
LET’S PRAY
LORD, we thank You for sending us Your Son and Your Word. As we face these spiritual conflicts and live amidst spiritual warfare, we come to You seeking Your protection and guidance. Equip us with the Shield of Faith, and use Your truth to protect us from the enemy’s deceit. We have faith in Your ability to keep us safe from both harm and deception. In Your holy name we pray, amen.
