Dear Editor,
Witchcraft is supernatural power from Satan. He acts as if he is going to help people, but he actually hurts people spiritually and physically. He is a deceiver. He is also the chief enemy of God.
This is why witchcraft, whether it comes from Africa, or Europe, or Asia, or the U.K., or North, Central, and South America, is a great offence against God!
Therefore, I call upon the Parliament of Jamaica to remember the following facts: (1) Government is a “minister” of God, that is, a “servant” of God; (2) A “servant” is required to be obedient to the Master, and the Master is God; (3) We know what God wants us to do or does not want us to do by what is written in the Holy Scriptures; and (4) The Holy Scriptures forbid witchcraft and warn that those who practise it will not enter into the Kingdom of God, but they will be punished in the lake of fire and brimstone, forever and ever. (See Romans 13:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Deuteronomy 18:9-14; Revelation 21:8.)
So then, do not legalise Obeah, or else you will cause great spiritual and physical harm to yourselves as a government and great spiritual and physical harm to the people of Jamaica!
