Donnie McClurkin provides hurricane relief to Jamaicans

Pastor Donnie McClurkin and the Perfecting Faith Church Missions Team are now in Jamaica following through with commitments made during a Fact Finding  Symposium in June 2023 that was held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston for The Callaloo Mews Improvement Project.

On Wednesday, Pastor McClurkin collaborated with the Food For the Poor organization in building new homes for residents of the Callaloo Mews community who meet the criteria established by them.

McClurkin and members of his team viewed and observed the building of the first house that was handed over to bless a very special family. While in Callaloo Mews, the team was hosted by the Callaloo Mews Basic School which is near and dear to his heart. At the same time, the Missions Trip dental/medical team was onsite at the school to provide dental services for the children.

The following day, McClurkin headed to the Newell High School in St. Elizabeth for a Hurricane Relief supplies distribution with Bishop Dwight Whitley, District Overseer of the New Testament Church of God for a Community Health Fair, and give aways for Hurricane Relief. Farmers in this parish, who suffered heavy damage to their crops and poultry due to the Hurricane, received seeds, young plants, and chickens to assist in the growth acceleration and replenishing efforts.

On Friday, the team went to Jacob’s Ladder, Mustard Seed Community, Moneague where the medical/dental team administered dental services and medical screenings to the residents.

Commenting on the mission, Pastor McClurkin stated, “I am not here to be the hope of Jamaica, but to link arms with you, my brothers and sisters, and to provide some encouragement and support.  I unequivocally believe, as it is written in Psalm 133, that there is a commanded blessing and life forevermore when we operate in unity. Therefore, it is imperative for us as the body of Christ to unify and work in collaboration with the government, charitable organizations and the private sector at this time; not under a political movement or a denomination, but under the banner of Christ’s love to maximize the kingdom’s impact and ultimately the growth and advancement of the people. We want to show the world a unified body of Christ through our relationship with God and with each other.”

McClurkin and the Missions Team are looking forward to visiting Jamaica again next year.
