Jamaican drivers makes the podium at major racing series

Jamaican Reggae Racers, Tommi Gore and Senna Summerbell earned spots on the winner’s podium at the ADAC GT4 racing series in Germany on Sunday, October 20.

Both drivers, who are now back on the island, finished third in the first race and in the top five in the final race, marking Jamaica’s maiden appearance in the prestigious European GT4 motorsport event. The Reggae Racers delivered an outstanding performance, winning Jamaica’s first trophies in the series. It was also the first time Jamaica was represented in the prestigious European GT4 motorsport event.

According to a press statement issued on Tuesday, Summerbell, 22, and Gore, 19, whose fathers are both prominent race drivers, have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with on the world racing circuit.

“We decided to take part in the ADAC GT4 Germany because we realised that it is one of the fastest growing GT championships in the world and can offer us and our brands, which are on board this season, many opportunities to present themselves,” the duo shared.

The Jamaican pair finished 14th overall in the ADAC GT4 racing season, which ran from April to October 2024 and included six race events at iconic race tracks in Germany and Austria.

The Reggae Racers, nicknamed the ‘figurehead of Jamaican motorsport,’ have stated their commitment to the future expansion of motorsport throughout the Caribbean and beyond. They are funded by the Jamaica Tourist Board, S Hotels, and Sandals Resorts.
