Dear Editor,
On Sunday, January 11, 2026, a young man was tasked to preach his inaugural message to the congregation. The topic of his sermon was “God’s Faithfulness” (Lam 3: 22-25). It reinforced that unlike us fallen humans, God is faithful. This means that he is steadfast, reliable, and unchanging; what he said yesterday remains the same today, and it will be tomorrow and into eternity. God says what He means and He means what He says.
It took me to an article in the Freedom Come Rain Newspaper special edition for January 2026, the topic of which was “More American churches supporting homosexuality.”. As I read the article, the Holy Spirit began to speak to me about the fallen state of churches. Those who should be teaching the truth of God’s faithfulness and his faithful justice against sin are now saying that God is unfaithful to his Word. God will not disregard sin; it is either we repent or face hell’s wrath. That goes for lesbians and homosexuals, along with all other acts that transgress God’s laws for humanity. The verdict that was passed remains faithful (Genesis 2, Romans 6, and Ezekiel 18). Some churches have become synagogues of Satan. We are reminded in scriptures that judgement will begin in the church (1 Peter 4:17). The church is expected to set the standards for righteous living in accordance with God’s standards for the unbelievers to follow, not the other way around.
The Revelation that Jesus Christ gave to John was specific for the church, and it still is today. He that hath an ear, let them hear what He that is The Faithful Witness, who lives forevermore, is saying to the church (Rev. 1:18). Rev 3:14 states, These are the words of the Amen, the True and Faithful Witness. In scripture, ‘amen’ and ‘faithfulness’ are the same, denoting affirmation, confirmation, agreement and reliability. God and His Words are reliable; humans are liars. Let us not think that God also lies. God’s Words remain faithful from beginning to end.
I am.
