How Guest Number 53 became the Groom: The Junior and Moneva Dunn Mohalland Love Story

In 2018, when Moneva Dunn Mohalland ‘planned’ her wedding, or what she thought it would be like, she had her husband’s name on the list as guest number 53!

Finding the memory funny now, she admits that they have been friends for years, having met at a church they used to attend.

There was no ‘love connection’, just pure and simple friendship until they both got revelations that they should take their friendship to another level.

It was first disclosed to Moneva in 2017 when she started having dreams about him, which she cancelled in prayer as she said she believed he was already taken.

Junior, too, was having dreams, and he recalls one he had in 2019.

“I had a dream where Moneva and I were sitting in the sand on the beach; we were building something together, and the LORD said, ‘She is your wife, she knows already, but she will not come to you.'” Junior said later on that same year, Moneva had another dream where she was badgering him  until he told her that she was his wife.

“Within that same week, we were on the phone, and I was trying to find out what she was thinking, and then I told her my dream. Right there and then, we just knew, and in that moment, the connection was undeniable.”

Having that conviction, the two didn’t waste any time in tying the knot. So on June 27, 2020, they got married in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As they grow in their union, Junior has so many things he loves about his wife. He shares a few; he loves the grace that she carries to pray and the ministry that she has. “I love the way she takes care of our daughter, Gabriel, and the way she serves me.”

As for Moneva, she loves her husband’s heart towards Jesus and people and his pursuit to fulfil the will of God.

“He is an excellent father,” she declares.

FANNING THE LOVE FLAME

Like most marriages, the Molhalland’s doesn’t come without its share of disagreements, but the couple knows just how to deal with them when they rear their ugly heads.

As Moneva points out, “We understand that one of the goals of love is oneness. Therefore, we do what is necessary to secure oneness between us. So we practise death to self regularly. Sometimes that looks like not talking for a couple minutes, but then, having the conviction of the Holy Spirit, we humble ourselves and apologise to each other.”

For the couple, what keeps their union going and sees them handling any challenges that come their way is that they are both praying people. And it is this advice that they are sharing with other married couples.

“Pray together regularly. Create systems to keep things together. One system that we recommend is for couples to have weekly family meetings where they do reviews, communicate about challenges and issues. Plan and set goals for the upcoming week. Another system is to do something each week to make each other feel special,” Junior notes.

Junior’s wife, who is a financial advisor, sometimes has a heavy workload. With their young daughter a pre-schooler, and Juniour being a full-time minister, they have to be skillful and strategic in ensuring they have quality time for each other and their daughter.

“We balance by scheduling and planning weekly,” he shared on the deliberate method of ensuring that they don’t lose out on quality time.

Contented in their love, the two are now looking forward to each accomplishing their separate dreams.

For Moneva, it is starting a prayer movement, while for Junior, he wants to start a dance ministry, publish his book, and organise a prophetic training session.
