The topic of giving or sowing into the Kingdom of God is often dismissed by some persons. But one Christian business owner is encouraging budding and even seasoned entrepreneurs to engage in sowing, as his own life is a testimony that there are benefits to doing this.
Co-founder of PureEco Natural Manufacturers and Distributors, Dave Hyatt, recently shared his testimony with the Freedom Come Rain newspaper. Hyatt shared that during a season of giving at the Tarrant Baptist Church off Molynes Road in Kingston, he and his wife, who are members of another church, made the decision to sow a monetary seed out of their business. He also testified that PureEco Natural participated in the TBC Radio annual Bazaar some time after the move and saw a significant boost in business.
“We gave out of the business, and the Lord, even through the Bazaar, blessed us,” he said.
The blessing of the business continued long after the Bazaar.
“Persons came to our booth, and they were purchasing items, but even after the bazaar, persons were calling and saying, ‘Is this the young man that we met at the bazaar? I bought such and such from him,’ and there were return customers, and there were also new customers.”
PureEco Natural was started in 2023 by Mr Hyatt and his wife. The company produces and distributes their flagship product, natural cold-pressed coconut oil, along with cold-pressed castor oil and honey to locations islandwide.
As a result of giving to the Kingdom, Hyatt experienced financial blessing in other areas of his life.
“Just recently, I got a salary increase,” he explained. “The whole team wanted a salary increase, but it happened at a time when it was the most needed…and I knew that this was the Lord also honouring the gift from even my salary.”
He therefore urged entrepreneurs to dismiss the mentality that to sow or tithe is in vain.
“Don’t think that sowing a seed – a monetary seed mi talking bout now – is not effective. It’s very effective!” he advised.
“And don’t – I’m stressing it – don’t forget to give back out of what God has blessed you with through your business; but separate and apart, if you have a job, that’s different, but through the business, give.”
Giving to the Kingdom should not be done just in anticipation of being blessed in return. The posture, he believes, should be one of thanksgiving.

“Don’t do it with a heart [saying], ‘I give to God, so I expect to get.’ No, give because you know, say, ‘God, you bless me.'”
Hyatt, who is also employed as a technician, admonished that business owners should sow out of all of their sources of income.
“It’s two different entities and two different incomes, so you must give from both,” he explained.
He also advised entrepreneurs and those who desire to become entrepreneurs to place God at the helm of their business and to insist on operating their business legally.
“Ensure that God is the chief. He’s the chief of staff and ensures that everything that you’re going to do is above board. When I say above board, it must be that you have to know that you’re going to pay a tax. You know that you’re going to pay a tax on your business as well. You know that whatever God says is not what anyone else says, but what God says you must do. You’re supposed to do it.”
