JAMAICA BLEEDS

No Repentance, no respite

The brutal murder of any child is a devastatingly barbarous act, diminishing hopes and aspirations, and shredding the fabric of a family and community.

Killing the unborn is even worse. It is systematically dismantling the future of a nation, one generation at a time. Worse than all of this, it is outright rebellion against the will of God, and the consequences are dire.

Children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is His reward. The enemy of God knows that children transport destinies, gifts, blessings, or curses from one generation to the next. They preserve the bloodlines and customs of a family.

When children die, the transition of the bloodline and innate traditions are painfully disrupted.

In May, which is celebrated as Child’s Month and Family Month simultaneously, Satan and his minions stepped up their attacks on children and families to ensure perennial bloodline disruptions, if not total destruction.

Satan strategically engaged lost souls – in homes, schools, communities, businesses, governments, and even churches – to harvest the blood of the innocent, whether in or outside of the womb. Spiritually, the enemy is determined to destroy Jamaica by strategically bringing down families and eliminating potential. Many, who are chosen, even before conception, to be the salt and light of the earth, are targets of special kinds of attacks.

In his mission, Satan has solicited, signed, and sealed an army of lost souls, including hardened criminals and persons who are involved in the occult, along with those who worship man or money. Many of these lost souls are fully commissioned and activated in government, across communities, in homes, schools, at school gates, and even within the churches.

The concentrated and sustained attacks on the nation’s children, especially over the past few weeks, must be spiritually contextualised.

Children died in fires in their homes; they were raped and murdered in their communities and mauled by other children at schools. Some harmed themselves when no one was looking.

There is no respite for a nation under judgement. One heartrending news item is replaced by an even more brutal and senseless occurrence.

More than 14 students of two prominent schools in St. Elizabeth had to be rushed to the hospital after they were injured in a crash along the Holland Bamboo main road, one bright May morning.

In the same month, the partially naked body of nine-year-old Kelsey Ferrigon was discovered stuffed upside down in a barrel at her Spanish Town home. Her body appeared to have been beaten, and investigators theorised that she was sexually assaulted.

Days later, the decomposed body of a missing university student was found on a secluded beach in Portmore, St Catherine.

Only days after this gruesome discovery, the decomposing body of eight-year-old Navardo Blackburn, who was reported missing, was found in his community of Gregory Park in Portmore, St. Catherine, in an abandoned car.

Between 2020 and 2024, a total of 168 children 17 years old and under were killed across Jamaica, while another 351 suffered gunshot injuries. Chairman of the National Child Month Committee (NCMC) Nicole Patrick Shaw cited police statistics.

The data showed, too, that 1,439 children were victims of rape, while 2,576 were the victims of other sexual offences, mainly sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years old.

However we choose to understand these attacks on Jamaica’s children is unimportant. This is spiritual warfare, and Jamaica is exposed. We are a nation without divine cover because we have rejected God.

The government has no solution to stem the flow of blood. Their tepid condemnations of the attacks on our children lack sincerity and change nothing. Their continued resistance to the calls for three consecutive days of national mourning, prayer, and repentance so that the land can be healed has allied them with Satan and his forces.

Wickedness against children is not new. It is well-documented in the Scriptures. Insecure kings, scared of losing their status, murdered babies to protect their thrones.

Pharaoh, in Exodus, decreed that all Hebrew baby boys were to be thrown into the Nile because he feared that they could become too powerful.

Innocent children were also massacred when Herod, king of Judea, tried to eliminate the newly born King Jesus. He ordered the execution of all male children who were two years old and under in the vicinity of Bethlehem.

The death of children also signals the full-blown judgement of a nation. God judged Egypt by eliminating its firstborn sons as plagues ravaged that nation.

In Jamaica, there is a significant reduction in the birth rate, and dark spiritual forces have doubled down on this with untold wickedness and the demand for blood.

No amount of police strategies, such as the brutal killing of community dons, States of Public Emergencies, Zones of Special Operations, or any other mechanism, can bring an end to spiritual warfare. The shedding of blood only fuels and emboldens the dark demand for more blood.

Those who claim to be experts in behavioural science posit all sorts of explanations for the wanton shedding of the blood of the innocent, the hundreds of missing children each year, the brutal attacks in schools, rampant domestic violence, and families broken and in tatters.

These atrocities appear to be nine-day wonders and not enough to drive home the message that judgement is on the land and is intensifying. Neither the government nor the governed understands that divine intervention is not just a recommended response; it is the only, absolute, and appropriate solution.

It is time for the nation to wake up and face the fact that only the efficacious blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, through repentance and prayer, can stop what is ahead.
