Join the fight! Christians hold peaceful vigil to end abortions

Several Jamaicans have accepted the call to participate in a prayer vigil organised by Christian advocacy group, the Love March Movement (LMM) in partnership with 40 Days for Life, an international prayer organisation.

The 40 day prayer vigil was started on February 14 along Ivy Green Crescent in Kingston, and will continue until March 24. The vigil has been successful so far, as several women have decided not to abort their unborn child after interacting with members of the group.

The LMM is however appealing for more persons to join the effort to assist women to choose life. The aim of the local campaign is to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity for the 40 days for prayer, fasting, and the peaceful vigil.

“It is important for persons to join this cause because Jamaica is drowning in the blood of the innocent. If we are to be the place to live, we must cherish the weak and fight to protect our most vulnerable, the unborn children,” president of the LMM, Dr Daniel Thomas said.

He said the mission of the vigil would be greatly enhanced with more persons coming onboard and participating. The vigil is from 8 a.m to 8 p.m. each day and so persons are being encouraged to sign up and indicate the time they can participate. Those wishing to join the prayer vigil can send a message to lovemarchmovement.com.
