Juliet Horne – healed of rheumatoid arthritis after 35 years

For 35 years, Juliet Horne suffered from the debilitating effects of rheumatoid arthritis. The disease brought her constant pain—so severe at times that she had to crawl on her bottom just to get around.

She cried day and night from the intense discomfort, and despite all the medications prescribed by doctors, nothing brought her relief. Her hands became crooked and misshapen, and attending church required her to wear knee bandages. As a dressmaker by profession, her work meant enduring excruciating pain daily.

In a powerful and emotional testimony at the Miracle Tabernacle Free Town Church of God of Prophecy, Juliet shared how the Lord delivered her during a crusade held in June.

“I went on Sunday night, but I didn’t make it on Monday because my husband picked me up late from work, and my left foot was swollen,” she recalled. That foot had been a source of pain for years.

Leading up to her deliverance, she said the pain became more intense—so much so that it consumed her thoughts.

“When I sang the song Come Jesus Come, I meant every word. That’s how bad the pain was,” she shared.

“I felt like I didn’t even want to wake up. Rheumatoid arthritis attacks all the joints—your immune system turns against your body. I’ve been suffering with it since I was 15 years old. My mother didn’t even know what it was,” she said.

Before healing

At age 21, a doctor in Kingston initially diagnosed her with “migrating arthritis,” as the pain seemed to move from one area to another. Wanting a clearer answer, Juliet sought further medical attention at the University Hospital of the West Indies. After thorough examination, she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

Treatment began, but she grew weary of the medications, feeling they were damaging other parts of her body. There were times when her joints were so stiff and painful that she couldn’t even get out of bed.

One of her darkest memories brought her to tears.

“I remember needing to use the bathroom and having to drag myself on my bottom to get there. That’s where I was. My child was crying and saying, ‘Come mommy, try to get up,’ but I couldn’t. The pain was too much.”

Juliet vividly remembers the night of her deliverance. Her husband had returned home early from a grave digging and drove her to the crusade along with her mother-in-law.

That night, the preacher—Pastor Noval Gayle—shared his own testimony about his wife’s healing and encouraged others to declare healing over their lives. He told the congregation to “use the blood, use the name of Jesus, and speak over yourselves.”

“I was there, listening to the preacher, preaching with him in my spirit, and talking to my situation at the same time,” Juliet said. “I had an ankle band on, a knee strap, and my leg was swollen.”

“I sat there, reasoning with God,” she continued. “Clients were calling, work needed to be done, and I said, ‘God, how am I going to manage this?’ But I remembered His Word—‘By Your stripes, I am healed.’”

After healing

Juliet said she reminded the Lord of the woman with the issue of blood, telling Him that her own affliction had lasted 35 years.

Just as she was reaching for her blessing, a sister stood in front of her, distracting her. Determined not to miss her moment, Juliet asked the woman to step aside.

“She hesitated, but I told her firmly, ‘No one is going to block my blessing. This is my night.’ She moved, and I went back to declaring the Word of God over my life.”

Then it happened.

“I felt a shift. The bandage on my knee and the strap on my ankle suddenly felt loose—the pressure was gone. I started crying out, ‘Yes Lord, yes Lord, I feel it!’”

When she got home that night, she removed the bandages. There was no swelling.

She went to work that week—cutting, sewing, standing—and returned to church the following Sunday. Still, no swelling.

“I still use wisdom. I rest my foot when I need to. I don’t overdo it. But I know I’ve been delivered. The Lord has healed me from what plagued me for 35 years.”

Her message to others who are still waiting for their miracle is simple yet powerful:
“Don’t give up. Keep using the blood. Plead the name of Jesus over your life. Your healing is coming.”
