Let us pray…

Father, we thank You for this day, for this brand-new day of prayer. Thank You for all that You have enabled us to accomplish over these weeks, these months, even though there are those who are questioning the efficacy, the usefulness, the importance and significance of prayer.

FUEL FUELING TENSION WORLDWIDE

We know that there is an increase in the tension globally because of rising fuel costs. We, here in Jamaica also have been impacted by rising costs of goods and services. We pray, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that our authorities, the leaders, will take creative measures to see where negotiations can be held, for example, with Venezuela.  Previously, we had a good relationship with them but because of political interference from external powers, we had to cancel or abort the relationship which really became toxic, yes, and, also punitive, in different ways.

We pray that if there is any possibility to re-engage Venezuela, that Father, that be done; but until such time, we pray that our people will be creative, yes, in how they utilize fuel. There are those who can be creative in the utilization of coal, charcoal; not to say we will be irresponsible in the unnecessary cutting down of trees, but there are areas where there are trees that can be utilized. We pray that our people will be responsible in that regard, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that we will be responsible in the use of fuel, the use of gas, the use of water.  We will be responsible in the use of electricity and all of that.  Where we are able to utilize solar solutions, we will do same. Where we are able to store water, we will do same.

JAMAICA’S FOOD SECURITY

I pray that we will continue to increase farming across the nation, that more and more of our citizens will engage the land in farming, that the government will give more incentives. We pray that we will have a farming “plandemic” across the nation, so that the food security of Jamaica will be secured; despite the foolish decisions made by the government over the past few months – using up arable land to build houses. We pray that they will cease and desist from such practices, and ensure that our best farmlands are preserved; and that the government will also invest heavily in traditional agriculture and encourage the people to follow suit, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

So, we thank You, O God, that the people across this nation are rising up and many more of us are planting, yes, planting the different crops, cultivating the different crops – the banana, the plantains, sweet potato, Irish potato.  More and more of us are doing cash crops, as well: carrots, cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, pak choi, pepper, sweet pepper, hot pepper. Yes, more and more of us are planting beans: broad beans, gungo peas red peas.  More and more of us are planting okra.  We are planting yams.  More and more of us are planting tomatoes, corn, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  More and more of us are planting sugar cane, oranges, and other fruit trees – lemon, lime, grapefruit, jackfruit.  More and more of us are planting star apples, because even if we are not the ones benefiting, at least our children will.

More and more of us are planting coconuts, more coconut trees. Fever grass, aloe vera, tuna – that special plant called tuna which can be used for so many things; chocho. More and more of us will be planting, and then we will also rear chickens, especially yard fowls. More and more of us will have the common fowls and seek to encourage them to multiply, yes, and we will be creative in making chicken feed – right, there are different ways of making the feed.

EVERY COLOUR OF EVERY COLLAR

More and more of us will rear goats and cows and pigs and other animals from which food, milk and so on, can be had; rabbits, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  So, we thank You, LORD, for the variety – animal husbandry and also plants, cultivating plants as well, plants and animals – in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

So, all across the nation of Jamaica we will see children planting.  We will see young people planting – young men and women planting. We will see mothers and fathers planting, husbands and wives planting.  We will see, hallelujah, grandpas and grandmas planting, bankers planting, those white-collared and blue-collared people will also get involved. Everyone will plant a little plot here and there, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

And we thank You that the spirit which drives praedial larceny, even in this season, yes, praedial larceny, will be arrested and cast into the abyss…the spirit which drives that particular practice. We thank You, O God, that You will dispatch angels all over this nation, to superintend, to manage, to supervise, to oversee all these various processes.

We thank You that our people will not be idle. We will not see young men any longer on the street, digging out their hand middle, smoking the spliff and whatever else – the tobacco, the cigarette; gambling, but they will all become engaged in entrepreneurial activities, viable, licit, entrepreneurial activities.

We thank You, LORD, for innovation, legal, licit, viable innovations that will redound to human flourishing, all across this nation of Jamaica. So, we thank You LORD, that You are managing all the various events that are happening globally.

PUT A LID ON IT, LORD

And we thank You that You are protecting our children. We thank You that there will not be an explosion in crime and violence any further in this nation, but that You will put a lid on it as we continue to cry out to You. We thank You that, Father, You will lead us as to how to pray each day so that all the issues that are of note and concern, You will lead us to pay attention to same.

So, we thank You LORD, that we will continue to see appreciable manifest signs that You are hearing and answering our prayers, so that this nation, under God, will become a better place.  Yes, it will become a place, hallelujah, of righteousness, a place of justice, a place of peace, a place of productivity, of prosperity under You, where the people will love You, and serve You in spirit and in truth and in holiness. Where they have not yet accepted You as LORD and Saviour, they will have at least a modicum of righteousness and respect for righteous principles and precepts and will be guided accordingly.

To You be all honour, glory and dominion, so that this nation of Jamaica may increase in beauty, fellowship and prosperity, and play her part in advancing the welfare of the whole human race.  In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth we pray, so let it be, so shall it be and so it is.  Hallelujah!
