Dear Editor,
There is only one currency registered in the Kingdom of God and that is being rich in
spirit.
What do I mean? The rich in spirit are people who have accepted Jesus as their Lord
and personal saviour. The rich in spirit are people who spend their time doing the will of God while they occupy time here on earth. The rich in spirit are those who take the time to be intentional about their journey with the Lord. They recognise that their purpose here on earth is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ; they’re of the world but not in the world. They wear the full armour of God—the crown of His joy. They spread the gift of charity, feed the hungry, clothe the homeless spiritually and physically.
The rich in spirit aren’t perfect beings, but are dedicated to spending time in the
presence of Yahweh; they know His voice, and they’re intentional about living the will that God has called them to do – in His fullness. The rich in spirit are pure in heart, for they shall see God. The rich in spirit are peacemakers; they understand that the fight is not against their brothers and sisters but against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The rich in spirit are compelled to share their gifts and talents with others to whom God called them – through fair acts of service and the proclamation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
