Locksley Roi wants more from the Lord

Up and coming gospel artiste Locksley Roi recently released his debut single, ‘I Want More’, a song that demonstrates his yearning for a close relationship with the Lord. It should be the desire of all believers to seek more from their walk with the Lord, and the aim of the song is to encourage Christians into action.

Produced by Island Worship, the track also features the distinctive sound of international gospel artiste Jermaine Edwards, who is also the producing genius behind the single. Listeners will be especially drawn to the upbeat reggae rhythm and composition.

Roi, who hails from Silent Hill, a rural community in Clarendon, has always had an interest in music; however, due to his reserved personality, he has never pushed his musical career.

Constant encouragement from friends and family saw him finally embracing his love and giving it the attention it deserved. The singer, who has been honing his craft from a young age, had no trouble keeping his focus on taking his music to another level.

Sharing his music, Roi said he only has one goal, and that is for those who listen to his songs to be led into a personal relationship with the Lord.

He hopes that his debut single will kick start his career along a powerful path with the focus on pointing listeners to the Lord and the need to ‘crave more of him’.

Sharing the inspiration behind the music, he said it all started when he overheard a conversation his wife was having.

“I happened to overhear a conversation between my wife and her friend talking about being at the place where Jesus is, instead of where he was. I initially thought it sounded like a good sermon, but then I thought singing is what I do, so maybe I should write a song instead.”

The song is available on all digital platforms.
