Longville Park gets public wi-fi

Longville Park in Clarendon has joined the rest of communities across Jamaica with free public wi-fi.

At the launch last Friday, Member of Parliament for the constituency, Pearnel Charles Jr., said the aim is to create an environment for the next generation where they can thrive. He said the internet service will ensure access for students as well as adults who want the opportunity to connect.

“It can be as simple as seeking educational resources for homework or a project or sending off your resume. Or it can be as complicated as doing research; whatever it is, this internet access must be used for good. It must benefit the community; it must push you forward in a positive way,” Charles Jr. urged.

Longville Park was the second of two public wi-fi launched in the parish for the day, as earlier the Universal Service Fund (USF) team made a stop at the Rocky Point Community Centre.

Among the communities in the parish now equipped with public wi-fi are May Pen, Chapelton, Rock River, Western Park, and Mocho.
