Dear Editor,
As a visitor to Jamaica, I fully concur with Jenni Campbell’s commentary. However, in my opinion, she is wrong to dismiss President Trump as he is merely a touchstone for the very people that she speaks on; the betrayed peoples of the World. The Globalist Neo-liberal elites have wreaked havoc worldwide since the 1980s in the wake of Reagan and Thatcher, resulting in the situation that we find ourselves today. Oliver Cromwell described this precisely in around 1640 in England on his plans to take his family to America ‘This country is wracked with greed and corruption where those who rule put filling their pockets before principles, and the common man dare not speak his mind for fear of imprisonment’. This was prior to the Great Rebellion aka the English civil war, but alas his legacy has not been honoured; except of course by the late great Tony Benn who said, ‘Every new generation has to fight to keep the rights gained by the previous one. There is victory and no defeat; only eternal struggle!’
I am,
