The National Housing Trust is warning its contributors to be careful about scamming as the time approaches for its annual NHT refund.
The housing agency come January 1, 2023, will be refunding 2015 contributions, is ensuring that vulnerable contributors are not fleeced out of their money.
A post on their Instagram account advises “please be on the lookout for scams during this period as there has been an increase in fake communication.”
The housing agency is advising contributors to make use of their website or mobile app to submit their applications.
“We will never ask you to provide payment information via links in emails or convey a sense of urgency to submit your application,” the statement reads with the instruction to query any communication that looks suspicious.
