Novlette Constable Gardner: Music And Mission Fuelled By Faith

Novlette Constable Gardner has been steadily carving out her place in Jamaica’s gospel music scene. Her journey is one rooted in faith, family, and a lifelong passion for singing.

The James Hill, Clarendon-raised singer announced her presence on the scene in 2018 when she entered Gospel JA’s Gospel Buss competition and won. It proved to be a launchpad for the singer to showcase to the world her talent.

Gardner is no stranger to gospel music, as she honed her skills in the church where she attended with her devout Christian parents.

There, from as early as age six, she was showcasing her talent, singing in the church and moving members with her voice. That foundation of worship and discipline shaped her desire to serve the Lord fully, a commitment she later sealed by giving her life to Christ.

Commenting on securing her win on Gospel Buss, Gardner said, “It gave me the chance of a lifetime to record my own songs,” she recalls.

Since then, Novlette has built an impressive catalogue of original tracks and covers, each one infused with her mission to uplift and inspire. Her songs include Blessings Indeed, My Jehovah, Keep Pressing On, Jesus Reigns, Let My Existence Praise, and God All by Himself.

She has also recorded songs such as  Blessed Assurance and Because He Lives, bringing her own heartfelt interpretation to timeless classics.

Novlette’s music is not just about melody—it is ministry. As a praise and worship leader at the Mandeville New Testament Church of God in Manchester, she sees her role as more than performance. “The inspiration to my songs is to bless and encourage others to keep faith and be strong no matter what comes along life’s path,” she explains. For her, every lyric is a reminder that there is a sovereign God who can be trusted, even in the most difficult seasons.

Gardner has since continued her involvement with the station that announced her by appearing on  Gospel Reload, the annual showcase hosted by Gospel J.A. FM, where she continues to connect with audiences hungry for encouragement. She balances her music ministry with another creative pursuit—she is a certified cosmetologist specialising in nails. This dual talent reflects her belief in using all her gifts to serve and empower others.

Education also played a role in shaping her journey. A graduate of Edwin Allen Comprehensive High School, Gardner credits her upbringing and schooling for instilling discipline and resilience. Today, she is not only a singer and worship leader but also a wife and mother, roles she embraces with gratitude and devotion.

Through it all, she remains focused on her higher calling. Her songs are testimonies of perseverance, faith, and divine timing. Titles like ‘It’s My Time‘ and ‘Truly Blessed’ echo her personal journey of trusting God’s plan. She hopes that listeners will walk away from her music feeling strengthened and empowered. “I would want listeners to always be blessed and empowered from my music,” she says simply, yet powerfully.

Novlette Constable Gardner’s story is one of unwavering faith and purposeful artistry. From a small district in Clarendon to the national gospel stage, she continues to press on—lifting her voice, winning souls, and reminding the world that true blessings come from serving God wholeheartedly.
