Mystery surrounds the death of 70-year-old Caroline Woolery Walters, whose body was found in a Florida river. She left Jamaica to attend her mother’s funeral in Philadelphia.
The senior landed at the Fort Lauderdale airport, missed her connecting flight to Philadelphia, and disappeared.
A WhatsApp message from her church informed that “despite all the checks by the authorities, [there is] no clue as to her whereabouts since Monday until today, the day that she should be burying her mother. The family has informed that they found her body… Don’t have the details at this point, but request your prayer for the family and church.”
According to a report from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Walters’ was last seen near Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office received a call around 5:30 p.m. Thursday of a body in the river near the 1500 block of Southwest Fourth Street in Fort Lauderdale. The body was later identified as Woolery-Walters.
