Prophets warn of blazing fire as Jamaica sinks deeper into ungodliness
Prophecies of Jamaica being hit by a massive earthquake and being engulfed by raging fire, have been shared in the aftermath of a magnitude-5.6 earthquake that shook the island on Monday.
Founder of Restoration World Outreach Ministries Incorporated (RWOMI), Apostle Steve Lyston, noted that contrary to popular views, God does not love Jamaica more than any other nation. As such, the country is not immune from God’s judgement, which will be getting more intense because of the magnitude of sins being committed by citizens.
“If we don’t repent, a fire will devour from Montego Bay to Kingston to Morant Bay and the other direction and then men will know that the Lord has spoken. The Lord said that there are a lot of plans the enemy has to bring to pass, but most of those plans will not happen, because the Lord is ahead of those plans,” he told listeners during Tuesday’s broadcast of the daily radio programme, Conversations, on TBC radio.
Lyston said God continues to send his prophets to warn the nation, but Jamaicans have refused to listen for the most part.
Among those who God have shown the vision of the fire, is Shamona McBean, who warned that God’s anger is kindled against Jamaicans because of the nation’s pride and rebelliousness.
“The Lord said, Jamaica cannot remain in this sinful state; in this idolatrous state. He said, let them heed my call. Let them heed the warning; and then I could see a world-wind of fire moving across Jamaica; just engulfing the nation as it moved from the East to the West,” she said.
“The Spirit of the Lord continually said that Jamaica is wrapped in the bed of Jezebel and the Spirit of the Lord says to this nation, chose ye this day, whom will you serve,” she told listeners of the radio programme.
According to Biblical account, Jezebel and her husband Ahab, who was the King of Israel, promoted the worship of false Gods. She also killed many prophets and promoted sinful acts. Jamaica has been warned on several occasions about its over-reliance on western countries such as Canada, the US and the UK, and the adoption of ideologies that are contrary to Christian principles, in the pursuit of prosperity.
On Monday, the country was shaken physically and psychologically by the magnitude 5.6 earthquake which many has since stated was an encounter they would not forget. Prime Minister Andrew Holness later that day praised government officials and the government’s technical team for their swift response and assured that the country would be fully prepared to handle any other such disasters.
But, with thousands of Jamaicans being made homeless annually as a result of fires and several persons being killed after being trapped in their homes that were converted to infernos, it is not known whether the country’s fire services would be able to adequately respond if Jamaica were to experience islandwide fires.
Canada has experienced higher-than-normal fire activity this year, which resulted in multiple deaths, the destruction of properties and mass evacuation in some provinces. This year’s wildfire season was declared the country’s worst, and as smoke drifted to American states such as Georgia and Atlanta, firefighters were sent from the US to help battle the blaze. Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Portugal and Spain also sent personnel and resources to assist.
A rapidly spreading wildfire then claimed the life of nearly 100 persons in the historic town of Lahaina in Maui, Hawaii on August 8. The fire, which has been described as the deadliest in modern American history caught residents unawares. As was the case following Canada’s wildfires, officials blamed the Maui fires on climate change.
Apostle Lyston, has been vocal in his views that much of what is being attributed to climate change are actually acts of God in response to sin. In the case of the impending judgement for Jamaica, he said God will first start cleaning up the church.
“The Lord said I shall visit the house. He said my house shall be a house of prayer. The Lord said it shall be a house of weeping, even the children, shall begin to weep again. The Lord said, yes I have seen the exchange, and I have seen letters and I have listened to meetings and heard the plans about the role of the church, but the Lord said a fire shall break out and men shall know,” he prophesied.
Despite the wide-scale rebellion and the worshiping of idols, Apostle Lyston noted that there are still persons who genuinely worship God.
“The Lord says to His people, be strong, be vigilante, be not afraid, because my angel is with you,” he said.
