Letter to the Editor: Praying for good and Godly husbands for my daughters

Dear Editor,

Permit me to speak personally of a concern that I feel sure other parents may have.

As a mother of two adult daughters, one a Christian, the other with a baby out of wedlock, I have a deep yearning. I am so longing for them to be happily wedded.

Years ago when they were just tots, Pastor Patience Bazuaye (later Alonge), would challenge us to declare over them; “Only the Good and Godly will be joined to them!” I agreed then and I am still believing that now.  However, I would like to challenge the young Christian suitors to arise. I know that many of us as parents want to see our adult children in families of their own with good partners, making life together.

When I examine things closely, I see numerous young women qualifying and equipping themselves for a sound base as adults. While on the other hand, some of the young men are late-starters. They lyme and relax a lot in their youth, and are not really ready for family life until much later on.

Come on young suitors, we are all waiting on you. Start now. Do what you need to do earlier than later. Afterwards, take what you have to the table, and together you and your damsel can work out your beautiful future. Of course, you must pray much and ask for God’s guidance and make your moves. Always remembering, Proverbs 18:22 – “He who finds a wife, finds what is good and receives favour from the Lord.”

I believe it will be rewarding. So in short order, you will dust those coat tails off and be walking down the aisle, making a young lady very happy. Already I feel the joy!

I am,

Georgia Campbell
