Unfazed by the prophetic warning of impending judgement to be visited upon Jamaica in June, members of the LGBTQ community are pushing ahead with plans to host a series of events mid-year, including a “bare as you dare” party which encourages patrons to come as raunchy as possible.
The “bare as you dare” event is slated to take place on June 6, 2026, at an undisclosed location in Kingston and will continue into the wee hours of June 7th; the same day, the LGBTQ community intends to host a pride march. Both events are part of Community Fest Jamaica’s month-long pride celebrations hosted by the Community Centre. The aim is to surpass the 4000 patrons that were attracted in the previous hosting of local pride events. Both events are being promoted as part of a list of nine “pride” activities in June, with the stated intention of bringing visibility and pride to the streets.
The warning of impending judgement in June has come from several prophetic voices in Jamaica.
Reverend Karel Dawes said she got a terrifying vision last year in November of a great shaking to impact the country.
“To date, I cannot get it out of my head, and in this vision the Lord spoke to me. He wrapped his face in a cloud, and He spoke to me in a terrifying voice, saying, ‘Tell them, take heed, in the month of June, your destruction shall ring,” she told the Freedom Come Rain newspaper.
Reverend Dawes and a team of intercessors went to four different locations in the corporate area in March to issue a warning that Jamaicans should repent.
“We are appealing to the leaders, we’re appealing to the Prime Minister, we’re appealing to the Governor-General, we’re appealing to the Leader of the Opposition, and we’re appealing to the authorities that have the power to bring the country to a halt and lead the nation into three days of national fasting, prayer, and repentance before the month of June because the Lord said in the month of June our destruction shall ring,” said Reverend Dawes, who is from the Holy Living Christian Ministries in Clarendon.
The Freedom Come Ministries International (FCMI), led by Apostle Dr Jeffrey Shuttleworth, has been proclaiming for more than seven years that the Lord is calling the nation to three days of national fasting, prayer and repentance. The Apostle, who prophesied that there would be a water judgement before Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica last year in October, has also been warning, too, that an earthquake/tsunami will hit Jamaica in June if the country does not repent as instructed by God.
Of note is the fact that the “Dare as you Bare” event is slated to take place on 6/06/2026. Prophetically, 6/6/6 is the number of the beast or Satan. Pride events have generally been opposed by Christians because they glorify sexual immorality and same-sex unions. The Bible also declares in Proverbs 16, verse 18, that pride comes before destruction. This year’s “bare as you dare” will be on a Saturday. One of the 10 commandments in the Bible is to keep the seventh day (Saturday) holy. The debauchery being planned for June 6 is therefore considered barefaced rebellion against God.
For some, the judgement to be meted out to Jamaica might be just as extreme as the earthquake that hit Port Royal in 1692, when a 7.5 magnitude earthquake and tsunami hit that city, plunging at least 75 per cent of it under water. Over 2000 Jamaicans died at the time. The earthquake hit Jamaica on June 7.
Buggery is illegal in Jamaica, but the LGBTQ movement has received a lot of support from politicians, the church and even educational institutions. A pride march was also held last year as well. This year’s staging of the event will include a promenade. It is not known whether the police have given clearance for the staging of this event.
