Principle of sowing and reaping

I am often reminded of this very simple statement: what goes up must come down (the law of gravity). Similarly, another related law or principle is that of sowing and reaping. This affects just about every aspect of our lives, not just our finances. Whatever you sow in life, you’re going to reap. Similarly, whatever you deposit is going to be returned to you. If you sow criticism in life, you are going to reap criticism from other people. If you sow kindness, you’re going to reap kindness. It’s the law of the harvest. If you plant orange seeds, you don’t get apples; you get oranges. If you sow with generosity, you will reap generosity.

When a farmer looks at a plot of land that is left idle and not worked, he has the choice of making good use of it by starting to plant some seeds. Whether he has enough or not, he has a choice, which is to either store it or give it away. If he holds on to it, that’s all he’s got. If he sows the seed, God will multiply it. The amazing thing is this: You don’t just reap what you sow. You always reap more than you sow!

I firmly believe that a lot of people have yet to tap into the law of sowing and reaping. As a result, they have not prospered in the way God intended. If we want to receive a bountiful crop, we must sow bountifully. So, let’s be faithful to obey the Word by paying our tithes and giving offerings. Just maybe there is a specific cause or need in this season for which we are led to give. An example is the TBC Radiothon 2024, which is aimed at expanding the station’s ability to spread the gospel to a wider audience, or it might simply be to feed a needy family in your community. If we sow seeds bountifully in faith and obedience, we will reap a bountiful harvest!
