RWOMI graduates laud school for spiritual transformation

Kimberley and Darren Brown

Kimberley Brown was having a lot of dreams and visions, when a friend recommended that she sign up for classes at the Restoration World Outreach Ministries Incorporated (RWOMI), Christian University to learn how to interpret these experiences.

Despite receiving treatment at the time for a medical situation, Kimberley and her husband, Darren, enrolled at the RWOMI Christian University School of the Prophets in June 2022. On Saturday, September 16, 2023, they graduated along with several other students who had signed up for three levels of courses to learn about their divine calling.

“We weren’t satisfied with where we were in terms of our spiritual level, and we knew that that would improve once we delved into the Word of God,” Kimberley said.

Like all the other students who have signed up for courses at RWOMI over the years, the two were told their calling and their pitfalls. They participated in several classes which broadened their knowledge of different subject areas. These classes focused on areas such as communicating God’s way, transformational leadership, learning about dreams and visions, and being a spiritual watchman. One of the most interesting lessons for them was learning about the UN and taking part in a model UN General Assembly, where Darren played the role of a diplomat.

The overall experience deepened the couple’s relationship and spiritual walk.

“When it came to home work time, I would be helping him sometimes, or he would help me sometimes. When I  help him, he gets more than me and when he helps me, I get more than him and it grieved my spirit, but it was  helpful and it was good to be doing it together,” she jeered.

Darren became a part of the school’s intercessory group and saw his prayer life improve drastically, and Kimberley benefited from one-on-one sessions with the school’s visionaries, Apostle Steve Lyston, Dr. Michelle Lyston, and Bishop Doris Hutchinson.

“RWOMI facilitates spiritual empowerment for us to go forth into our calling and really effect change for the Kingdom of God,” she said.

Apostle Lyston commended the students for their sacrifices. There were those, he said, who attended the classes from their hospital beds. Operating a bible school has its challenges, but the interest displayed by the students to learn and grow spiritually has been encouraging.

“We need ministers. Since the COVID-19,  a lot of people are no longer in ministry. It is not a bed of roses. God is looking for young people, that will stand and use the scripture,” he said.

Marcia Lewis who lives in Canada, had to visit the emergency room twice during the course of her studies, but she was not daunted as she battled several obstacles to attend classes weekly.

“I knew then that it was the enemy of my destiny, but purpose never dies,” she stoically declared as she spoke on behalf of her classmates about the impact the school had on their lives.

“We attended classes between working, attending church, and caring for families,” she said.

The most senior student in the class, Myrtle Clarke, said the numerous debates and discussions made the learning experience even more fun. By working together, they also forged bonds. There was always a dream to be interpreted, she noted, as she likened some of her classmates to Martin Luther King, Jr.

“This learning experience cannot be compared to any other. I have gone to other institutions of learning, but none has ever been like this one. The teaching was God directed, the learning God directed also, and so we walked according to the Holy Spirit. Our lives have been touched in a dynamically positive way. We are not the same as we came; our horizons have broadened, our territory expanded, spiritually we have grown,” she said.

This sentiment was also shared by Pastor Lilieth Dorman, who said they were empowered  and were  reminded how to just seek the Holy Spirit for His guidance in their daily lives.

“There were just so much that was taught to us that, at this point in time, I just feel like God has opened the door for us to be great, to do greatness.”

The next RWOMI class is set to begin in a few days. There will be an open house/orientation on September 26 and October 3 at  7PM EST/ 6PM JA time, where persons will be able to learn more about signing up. The Zoom link is below:
