Counsellor and senior pastor of Family Church on the Rock, Dr Karene Joy Keane is reminding mothers that without God, it is impossible to raise righteous and successful children.
As a mother of three and grandmother, Pastor Keane understands the importance of raising children in a Godly environment.
“They need to learn how to know God for themselves, how to be obedient and learn how to hear His voice. This can only come out of a personal relationship with Him,” she said.
She assures that, “He (God) will establish His presence through His Holy Spirit to empower them and to help them to make right and wise choices, and establish Godly principles which build Godly characters.”
In referencing Psalm 127: 3-5, she said mothers need to remember that children are loaned to us by God to train and disciple in His word.They are God’s heritage and the fruit of our womb is his reward. They should be encouraged to talk to Him as a best friend, Heavenly Father and God.
“He has the blue print of their lives and destiny before they were even thought of by their parents. He saw them and knew them. When we teach our children this, they will know that they are not a mistake or unwanted. He has them inscribed in the palm of his hand [because] they are safe, the blue print of their destiny is already with Him [and] set in the spirit. He has the title, the birth right. Our children are God’s reward – He saw their unformed bodies and knew them and loved them,” she told Freedom Come Rain.
No matter how deep a mother’s love goes, there is no mother who can love a child more than the Sovereign God, Jesus, healer, mender, master, saviour and Lord. As the true shepherd, the Lord wants to lead and direct our children.
Mothers in the era of crime and violence, lies and gross deception, must choose to respond to the desire for the kingdom and seek God. “Satan is relentless; he wants our children,” she said.
“Mothers must willingly now seek out the mothers in Zion for Godly counsel,” she encouraged, before advising, “Enquire of the true Holy Ghost filled pastors, end time prophets / teachers of the Lord, who will disciple you in the Word. Get and stay connected to a Bible believing church.”
In conclusion, she pointed to God’s inexhaustibly love for mothers, even as she assured that he will never forsake them.
“Mothers must become praying mama’s for direction and counsel from the Lord and to know His word for herself. With boldness, apply wisdom to knowledge and the gained understanding. God will give you revelation of His will and the boldness to speak ‘thus saith the Lord. To prophesy their future and stay the hand of the devil,” she said.
