Princess Donna McClarty has two passions: producing herbs and praying for sick people so they can be healed. Her passions complement each other, as the herbs she makes contain healing properties for various conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and inflammation, among other illnesses that people have to deal with.
In a one-on-one with Freedom Come Rain, Princess said her gift of healing was prophesied over her a long time ago, but even before then she always felt a desire to make a difference in the lives of those who were sick.
Everything was made clear to her about five or six years ago when a bishop revealed to her that the gift was handed down to her; that she should accept it, and that there were sick people waiting on her.
“I used to pray over myself, using the olive oil, and I would be healed. I pray over myself and use my own olive oil, and it works. When I go to the hospital and come back out, I feel like I am going to die. It’s as if I drew every illness. I go into the hospital at times when the spirit bids me, I pray and I go in there and I say, ‘God just use me to let these people just rise up off their beds,” she shared.
Princess, who makes wine under the moniker Sista Love, said there are times when she visits hospitals and sees the tears in patients’ eyes and would just feel weak. She often wonders if she should return, as every session leaves her drained and weak.
“It’s as if I am drawing their sickness; sometimes I have to sit down,” she pointed out.
Still, with all that, she is determined to continue her mission, just as she is determined to do the work of the Lord.
Commenting on the wines she makes from produce such as bamboo, guinea hen tree, paw paw, medina, tinking toe (stinking toe), and jackfruit, among others, Princess said she gets excited just thinking of the medicinal value behind them all.
Sharing about the guinea hen product, she said the leaves as well as the root are very good for preventing cancer.
“It is a champion detoxifier; it fights against cancer; it prevents it if you drink it early. The root is the strongest. Drink twice per week, and it gives your body alkalinity and also flushes your system,” she noted.
Princess, who also makes garlic wine, said it is an antibiotic.
She informed that the Lignum Vitae plant has a lot of medicinal value, which Jamaicans she observes are not even aware of.
“The Lignum vitae tree is very good for circulation, and it is good for bones. I find myself yearning for things that are medicinal and that you can benefit from. All I want to do is see people heal and turn to God. I don’t want them to heal and turn away with the healing; I want them to turn to God,” were her ardent words.
Focusing on her business and ministry, Princess shared that the only thing she needs now is a financial investor. She would continue to concentrate on the products while the person helps take the business to another level.
Speaking of the strength and popularity of her products, Princess proudly displayed the gold medals she received from the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC). The five-time gold medalist said her hope is to continue praying for the sick and pushing her wines internationally.
