HIGH PRAISE AT UWI CAMPUS
Worship was offered in a variety of ways during the inaugural Solemn Assembly at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus which started on Friday evening and continued into Saturday morning (March 21 -22). The event was organised by the Freedom Come Ministries International in partners
hip with the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF), and took place at the university’s Assembly Hall.
There was singing, dancing, poetry, miming and the sharing of testimonies, all to the glory of God. Prayer and intercession were constant throughout the night and the spoken Word captivated the minds and hearts of those who crammed the large audi
torium. When the venue’s seating capacity was maximised, chairs were placed on the outside to accommodate the overflow of worshipers.
Lecturers, youth leaders including the president of the Guild, and students representing different faculties, merged their voices with intercessors from across the island to tear down spiritual strongholds on the campus.
CLOSING THE GATES
Evil gate keepers were
admonished to repent or be replaced. There were decrees and declarations. A decree was made that righteous gate keepers would come forward at UWI and that the next president of the Guild of Students would be aligned with the principles of righteousness. It was declared that by the next academic year, all leaders at the University, at every level, would be righteous men and women. It was also declared that by 2027, carnival would be forbidden on the grounds of the university.
Evil altars were shattered as the prayers of the saints went forward.
As the clock inched close to 4 am Saturday morning, the assignment was given for those in attendance to align themselves with one of eight groups that were tasked with closing spiritual gates on the campus. The various teams prayed, they marched, they denounced, and they created righteous altars that will help to shape operations at the university going forward. On returning from assignment, the praise, worship and prayers continued.
YOUTHS ON FIRE FOR GOD
Youths came out in their numbers during the Solemn Assembly on the UWI, Mona Campus and demonstrated their hunger and thirst for righteousness and the things of God.
Apart from the large contingent from the UWI, there were also representatives from other tertiary institutions, such as the MICO University College, the Shortwood Teachers College, the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, and the University of Technology (UTECH). The team from the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF) took charge, leading everyone into a time of praise and worship and intercessory prayers.
