Speaking truth to power

Truth cannot be negotiated, adjusted, or amended to suit any group or person, regardless of how powerful or well-positioned they may be.

There is no flexibility or economic leverage with truth; it stands alone, unabashed, uncompromised, and unadulterated. Truth cannot be dented or diminished.

So when a St. Mary pastor stood bravely and delivered the truth, saran-wrapped in a parable to a congregation of mainly politicians and their minions, it is not surprising that it was met with stony silence and red-faced aggression.

Witchcraft, which seems to be prevalent among some in that parish, along with the stubborn question marks swirling around the prime minister and seven others might have partnered to push the pastor and his parable to the ground. Those who took offence to the tale rushed to social media to celebrate the pastor’s demise and advance their own narrative.

Truth is under attack in these last days, and millions have been indoctrinated to believe that those who speak against unrighteousness deserve to be silenced, labelled bigots, hateful, and criminals, and must be spectacularly ridiculed, shamed, or ultimately silenced.

The unrighteous have banded together as pawns of Satan, strategically positioned in families, communities, political parties, and governments to enforce the woeful will of the defeated foe. They show up in church services, at social gatherings, in places of work, and just about everywhere else to push against the gospel.

These fools do not understand that the church is powerfully equipped to speak against the kingdom of darkness, demolish strongholds, push back atrocities, tear down spiritual wickedness, break the backs of oppressive regimes, and disband hostile policies and operations. Satan has for centuries created divisions among the brethren, infiltrating, corrupting, and compromising pulpits and pews with his wickedness. A weakened and divided church speaks in splinters, and without its entrusted force of unity, Satan and his minions find grounds on which to advance.

What we saw in St. Mary was the effort of the forces of darkness to push back against the truth. The celebration that went viral on social media reflects the broad spread of darkness that has engulfed and encapsulated so many of the Jamaican population.

Because elements of the church are compromised, the Jamaican government feels safe and secure in speaking against the righteous truth it finds offensive.

We are in an era when witchcraft, bloodshed, corruption, and deception are prevalent at every level. The government recognises that the wider population has moved away from righteousness, so space has been made for the promotion of gangsterism through popular monikers and music, as well as the reprobate lifestyle through chatbots and advertising campaigns on buses and in public spaces.

Jamaica has become a safe harbour for Satan, so leaders can mouth the idea of hate speech laws and the introduction of regulations to monitor and arrest free speech under the guise of stopping fake news on social media. Know this: where all and sundry, including Christians, have enjoyed the right to speak their minds, curtailing freedom of speech, whether from pulpits, on social media, or in traditional spaces, is really about shutting down righteous voices. So when speaking the truth becomes criminalised, it is a declaration of all-out war by the forces of darkness against the all-powerful God. It is a war that God has already won. Do not take the episode in St. Mary lightly. The defeated foe was on a mission to steal that show.

That agents of the government and their friends took offence to the pastor’s parable is a clear indication that people are no longer hiding their rebellion. They are unabashed in their opposition to the gospel, even in sacred places. It is crystal clear that we have reached a dangerous place in our development as a nation.

The future is already here; parsons and other believers should know by now that they are being sidelined and will be arrested and imprisoned for preaching the gospel. We first saw it during the COVID plandemic. An unforgettable example was made of Pastor Peter Chambers from Brown’s Town, St. Ann. Pastor Chambers was treated like a dangerous criminal when security forces descended on his home in the wee hours of the morning because he dared to say that the wages of all sin, including those of the prime minister, is death.

Those who seek to silence truth should also know this: God cannot be silenced. He still owns the breath of life, including the breath of the persecutors of His people.

Messengers of God are obligated and accountable to speak the truth, despite who may be seated in the pews, regardless of their positions or titles.

Without a doubt, Christians who actively pursue the will of God will be persecuted. It is promised. The prophets of old did not fear persecution. They spoke truth to power and did not care who was sitting on the throne or about the consequences of their utterances. They feared God and were fearless about all else.

Globally, the persecution of Christians has already started to intensify. Global persecution of Christians has been on a steep and continuous rise since 2020. Open Doors’ annual World Watch List reports that over 365 million believers faced persecution last year—up five million in 2022.

Over the past decades, 1993 held the record for extreme levels of persecution of Christians in 40 countries. This number has nearly doubled to 76 countries in 2023.

Silencing opposing voices is the way of devils, tyrants, and autocrats, where dissidents are labelled as enemies of the state as they pose a real and present danger to the proliferation of dark deeds. So we notice efforts to silence the voice of the Integrity Commission. This started in 2017 when a gag order was entrenched in the Integrity Commission Act. A new layer could be added with a court case to strike down an IC report on the uncertified statutory declarations of the Prime Minister and parts of the Act itself. We also see efforts to silence the nation’s media through a series of attack videos on social media, accusing some journalists of political and monetary compromise. Like a lamb to the slaughter, sections of the church offered their voice, never to recover it again, by partnering with forces of evil during the plandemic. Satan will continue to encourage and applaud the corrupt and their governments. His emissaries have been given full access to do his bidding.

Silencing the righteous is Satan’s masterstroke; it makes way for the continued corruption and the subjugation of truth.

False prophets, under the auspices of Satan, are emerging in droves, and those who can be deceived will be deceived. For those who are inclined and determined to believe a lie, God will help them along and send them strong delusion.

If the church chooses to remain silent, corruption, bloodshed, and witchcraft will continue to increase and spread across the land. Judgement has already started and it is showing up in the House of God. Deal with it.
