TAJ announces early closure, as staff prepares for meeting with Finance Minister

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) will be closing its offices at 2:00 p.m. on February 7 to facilitate a meeting with Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke in the aftermath of recent industrial action  threats to register dissatisfaction with the government’s new compensation package.

The Jamaica Customs Agency which also threatened to take industrial action last week, is also set to  meet with the finance minister to discuss their grouses with the compensation package.

TAJ in a press release stated that all team members of all tax offices and business locations will be taking part in a general meeting. TAJ offices are set to re-open on Wednesday February 8, 2023 for regular business.
