TATTOO TORMENT! Skin-deep covenants many regret

Annetta did not object when the lady she was intimately involved with convinced her to get a tattoo to commemorate their bond.
At the time, the former lesbian did not realise she was entering into a demonic covenant. She got an anchor tattooed on her body, and her then partner got a matching symbol to complete the look. Both were done in cheetah print and, in the eyes of the duo, were very cute.
“The anchor is something that bonds us together so she has piece and I have piece. Let me tell you about this tattoo thing; it is a really demonic thing, and when we say demonic, it is really demonic,” said Annetta, who is now a Christian.
“I remember one time I was here and she called me, and she said she had a surprise for me. So I asked her what the surprise was about, and she showed me with the phone. At the same time, with the anger that I felt, I said to her, ‘This relationship is over,’ because what she did was that she wrote my name on her leg, and I tell her [I do] not pierce my name in no one’s skin because once you pierce my name, it’s like you bound me, you control me like we have a covenant, and she said, ‘But we are in a relationship.’
Although that relationship ended over a tattoo, that did not deter Annetta from getting more tattoos. She got flowers, teddy bears and other designs on her arm and a Virgo sign with a bird on her back. She also had a large family tree with the initials of her sibling and her son on one of her arms. She used to wear a sleeve to disguise it, but the act of wearing this sleeve contributed to her feeling like a “tomboy” and she realised she attracted a lot of same-sex interest. She said having the tattoos and subsequently wearing the sleeve made her feel like a don and that she possessed a lot of power. She gradually became very abusive towards the women she entered into relationships with.
After Annetta got saved in 2018, she was delivered from the spiritual hold the tattoos had and ended all relationships with women. She is now happily married and is an evangelist.
While most persons consider getting a tattoo because they like the look, Annetta said the act of marking the body in this fashion is not innocent and does in fact open spiritual portals. Annetta still has the tattoos physically imprinted on her body, but their spiritual hold has been broken. Whenever she is asked about them while evangelising to sinners, she uses the tattoos as part of her testimony.
“I was doing what the world wants me to do, but it’s when I came into church now that I realised that tattoo wasn’t supposed to be on your skin. The Lord says He accepts me as I am, so at the end of the day, if people ask me about my tattoo, then I will explain to them that it was before [I knew Christ],” she said.
Many Christians who got tattooed prior to conversion are now going through the painful process of having them removed. Based on checks by the Freedom Come Rain newspaper; getting a tattoo removed can be costly. Depending on the size, it can cost from $10,000 for a tiny tattoo to well over $200,000.
Leandro de Souza, once recognised as the “most tattooed man in Brazil” with 95% of his body covered, is currently undergoing this painful process. He is now having laser treatment done to remove his more than 170 tattoos after becoming a Christian.
“It hurts a lot more than doing it. It hurts three times more than doing it. Even with anaesthesia, the process is very painful,” said the 36-year-old whose transformation has attracted widespread attention in recent months.
