The Anointed Dancers: Spreading the gospel through dance

In the heart of the Homestead Satellite of the Freedom Come International Ministeries, a vibrant group of young women are making waves with their unique and powerful form of worship. The Anointed Dancers are not performers—they are ministers of the gospel through movement. Their passion for Christ and unwavering commitment to their faith, fuel their desire to inspire others, especially young people, to embrace Christianity as a joyful and fulfilling journey.

The group began with just two members on March 17, 2024, but as their vision resonated with others, they quickly grew into a dynamic team of nine. Their formation was made possible through the Young People’s Ministry at the Homestead Satellite, and their shared purpose has created a strong bond of sisterhood rooted in faith. United in their love for Christ, they understand that their dance is not for personal gratification, but a sacred act of worship, as captured in Psalms 149:3-4: “Let them praise his name in the dance; let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people; He will beautify the meek with his salvation.”

Each dancer brings a unique perspective and passion to the group, enhancing their collective mission. Some, like Tashie Gazader, see their calling in dismantling the enemy’s kingdom and winning souls for Christ, while others, like Doneva Duncan, view their role as ambassadors for Christ, seeking to draw others closer to Him through fasting, prayer, and ministry.

Allian Blackstock, one of the nine sharing on her passion, said, “As a woman of God, my passion is to live a life that reflects God’s love, grace, and truth in everything I do. I strive to serve others with compassion and use my gifts to make a positive difference. My desire to become a nurse is an extension of this calling to care for others with kindness, provide comfort in times of need, and be a light through my actions. Each of our personalities go well together because we all are striving for one thing, and that’s Heaven.”

The foundation of the Anointed Dancers is not only their faith, but also their deep respect and encouragement for one another. For Shannoya Bisson, this bond is a testament to God’s love, as they build meaningful, non-judgemental relationships within the group.

Hailey Brooks shares this sentiment, recognising that their ministry allows them to captivate audiences with the Holy Spirit’s presence while also deepening their own personal faith. This sense of unity and purpose fuels Tanisha Brown Dunkley’s desire to live a life in total surrender to Yahweh, embracing holiness and obedience to His will. Meanwhile, Trezelle Clarke and Hannahlisa Irving continue to grow in their faith, striving for an even closer relationship with Christ and finding joy in their shared experiences within the group.

Dancing for Brown Dunkley is transformed into “a deep intimacy with God in such a way that whatever He says or asks of me, I will not hesitate or second guess. To live a life totally surrendered to YAHWEH. In spirit, in truth, and in holiness, as long as he permits me to live.”

The Anointed Dancers take inspiration from 1 Timothy 4:12: “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.” This verse is both a challenge and a guide, reminding them to lead by example and demonstrate that young people can be role models in their communities. Their performances are not mere entertainment, but a form of ministry that embodies the vibrancy, expressiveness, and joy found in faith.

All nine members worship at the Tarrant Baptist Church/Freedom Come International Ministries Homestead Satellite, where they actively engage in various aspects of church life. Through their dances, they strive to illuminate the beauty of a life dedicated to Christ, echoing the words of Matthew 5:16: “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.” Each performance is an offering, a heartfelt expression of worship that resonates deeply with

their audience and, most importantly, with God.

For the Anointed Dancers, their art form is more than a passion—it is a divine calling. Through every movement, leap, and expression, they communicate the boundless love of God, reaching hearts and transforming lives. As they continue their journey, they look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead, confident that their ministry will inspire and uplift those who witness their dedication to Christ.

Their story is one of resilience, discipline, and devotion, proving that young people can indeed be shining examples of Christ’s love. As they step forward in faith, they remain committed to glorifying God and drawing others into His infinite embrace—one dance at a time.
