Apostle Steve Lyston
Psalm 127: 3 says, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord; The fruit of the womb is a reward.”
There is a lot of pressure being placed on our children globally, and the same is true for the parents as well.
The world wants us to raise our children by sensitising and training them to have unholy lifestyles. There is a war going on over the future of our children. Without children, there is no future. So, it is critical to know that children are given to us as a heritage, and it is our responsibility to train them. They are given to us as a reward and a blessing.
Parents and Children
Parents are the first teachers in the lives of their children and the first line of government. As such, they are to teach their children about:
The goodness of God
Love and Respect
Faith in God
The Fear of God
Salvation
As the children grow older, their roles will change, and they will begin to provide for and protect their parents. It will also be their responsibility to deal with the spiritual and physical needs of their parents.
Children belong to the Lord, so each person must be careful about what he or she does to or with each child. For example, we need to refrain from teaching children wrong doctrines or acceptance of sexual immorality or encouraging them to engage in lies and manipulation – whether through mass sensitization (via movies and other media platforms) or direct impartation. The Lord tells us in His word that it would be better to hang a millstone around their necks and drown them in the sea than to teach and subject them to such things.
Children are blessed by God. Jesus shows His heart by blessing the children.
According to Psalm 127, it is critical for parents to train their children for spiritual warfare. It is why the children are given the arrows, and why they are also arrows! Unfortunately, we have been allowing the enemy to be the one training our children for evil. The parents need to obey God’s instructions regarding how He wants them to equip the children. He wants parents to teach them when to wake up (Deuteronomy 11:19). Parents must also teach them about the various watches and their significance to us as Christians. Children’s Homes
Lawmakers need to take a new approach to Children’s Homes. There needs to be reform. There are too many incidents taking place in the Children’s Homes that mar the innocence of the children, while people turn a blind eye to it all. It must change. This will help to limit the abuse of every kind taking place within the Homes. We must understand that governments globally are not equipped on their own to handle this. Their job is compliance and regulation, so we need to vet those who manage the Homes – physically and spiritually. Nations are now struggling morally, so this kind of accountability is necessary – vital.
For this reason, those responsible for the running of these facilities must be evaluated on a comprehensive qualitative level. They must be married and be in good standing with the church and the Government, as must their spouse.
The moral decline of nations impacts the family significantly. Unless there is a divine intervention, we will see significant increases in the issues with the children and the level of degradation in our society overall.
Update The Traffic Laws
We must extend the care and protection of our children to the Traffic Laws and Rules. Too often, children and young people are being slaughtered on the roads by reckless drivers and treated like wild game for hunting.
It is time to implement a decrease in the speed limit in school zones during school hours so that greater care is taken when driving through school zones, and fines for violations must be stringent and must be adhered to for the sake of saving the lives of our nation’s future.
Good Old-Fashioned Love And Care
At the end of the day, it all comes down to taking care of the gifts God gives us and recognising that the value is not in what we see but in the purpose for which He created each child. We must make the choice to love these gifts called children and take care of them, ensuring that we help them to fulfil their purpose on the planet for the benefit of all.
