The Spanish Town Jesus Movement

On Sunday, April 13, 2025, when I got home after the first church service, my sister came home from her church service and decided to get her nephews some snacks. I don’t like going out after church to do anything, other than returning to church or visiting my dad, who is not well.

We decided to go to a supermarket in Spanish Town. Getting out of the car, the atmosphere was different in a good way. Normally, there would be this heavy feeling, and I would always have to be praying. I entered the supermarket, and the atmosphere was different, which was enlightening. I moved towards getting the shopping cart to put the items in. Old-time gospel music was being played in the background, and I could not help but to sing along and lift my hands. A lady came beside me and said this song needs a tambourine, and I enthusiastically agreed. She began to bellow out the song, and she had two boys with her, and they were looking at her as if to say, ‘Mom you’re too loud.’ I said to them, ‘You don’t get used to her yet?’ It’s the first time I was seeing this lady in my life. I smiled at her boldness and walked off.

As I moved to other areas in the supermarket, I could hear another person singing.  Interestingly, many people were dressed like they were coming from church. A few others had on an inch of shorts with their torso barely covered; others looked like they were helping to advertise liquor; [and] some were with tattoos [not discriminating]. But just to paint a picture for you, merchandisers were singing; old men, young men, middle-aged persons; they were singing, and the atmosphere was filled with worship.

I am saying that something is happening, and it is a good thing. It is a God-thing, a JESUS movement. My sister, who can be reserved in her worship, was not reserved in the supermarket. When I got home, I was saying, ‘Thank you, Lord, for what I saw in the supermarket. I was filled with joy.’ Then I was taken aback, remembering the Freedom Come Prison Oval Worship gathering a few weeks ago, where there were decrees and declarations, and also the peaceful, prayerful, protest that is going on, not to mention the tent gathering at times, and where the tent was located before now. God is doing something, and it is evident!

Let me say that something is activated in Spanish Town, and it is electrifying. This is the work of the HOLY SPIRIT.
