James 1:5 – “If anyone of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
Our Heavenly Father is perfectly wise. Everything He does is perfect. Every thought and idea that He has is filled with complete wisdom. What’s more, through the Holy Spirit we have access to that wisdom. According to James 1:5, our God loves us so much that He’s just waiting to bestow on us His vast wisdom. He never wants us to suffer from a lack of knowledge.
It also proves that God gives His wisdom generously. Not only is the wisdom of God given to us generously if we ask, but it also has its incredible attributes. James 3:17 says “The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” The wisdom of God will do incredible things for our lives. When the wisdom of God is bestowed upon us, we will receive many of the attributes of God Himself.
The path He has guided us to is the way out of this stress that worldly ambition and success will assuredly cause. He’s guiding us to a life of abundant peace. When we forego the wisdom of this world for Him, we will undoubtedly appear more foolish to some. But we will have found a way of living free from the burdens of the world. God’s wisdom leads to a life truly hidden with Christ, left in the sea of His love and mercy. Ask God for His wisdom today. Read His Word with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God is waiting patiently to reveal everything we have the desire to seek out and to live the abundant life God has planned for us.
PRAYER
Lord, Your Word says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding.” Psalm 111:10 (NIV). Help us to trust in you and follow your precepts in every twist and turn of this season and our lives. Grant us a good understanding and guide our steps. As we continue to seek your Kingdom, give us an abundance of wisdom that we may apply to our hearts. Amen.
