Time for Repentance, Unity, and Readiness

Jamaica is walking through a sobering moment. A Category 5 hurricane, groundwater rising unexpectedly, flooding, uncertainty and fear; yet underneath all of this is a deeper spiritual message. The Bible consistently shows that when a nation forgets God, He allows shaking to bring people back to Him. Not to destroy us, but to awaken us.

Like the watchman in Ezekiel 33, believers are called to “sound the alarm” when danger approaches. This is not the time for Christians to sleep spiritually, nor to treat church as a routine. It is a time for repentance, unity, and readiness.

I know what it feels like to walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I’ve lost both parents, experienced multiple miscarriages, watched grief touch my family repeatedly, and battled lifestyle illness before God restored my health. But in every season of pain, God preserved me so I could help others recognise the urgency of the hour. Pain became purpose, and loss became assignment.

Jamaica, we are not beyond hope. God is still speaking. He is still warning, and He is still merciful, but mercy requires a response.

Now is the time to return to prayer, rebuild our families, guard our minds, care for our health, and choose righteousness over convenience. Now is the time to strengthen our faith, disciple our children, support our churches, and walk boldly as soldiers in God’s army.

The storm may have shaken our land, but let it shake our hearts back to God. The shadows may be real, but the Light is greater.

Jamaica, let us yield, let us repent, let us rise with God.

I am,
