Use Potato Water in Your Garden

Don’t pour that potato water down the drain! The leftover water from boiling potatoes is packed with nutrients that can give your garden a natural boost. Potatoes release vitamins and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and a small amount of starch into the water, making it a gentle fertilizer for plants.

To use it, let the potato water cool completely before applying. You can pour it directly at the base of your plants to nourish the roots. It’s especially good for leafy greens and flowering plants that benefit from extra potassium. Just make sure the water is unsalted because salt can harm plants and soil health.

This simple trick is an easy way to recycle kitchen waste while giving your garden a natural nutrient boost. Next time you boil potatoes, think twice before tossing out that golden water because your plants will thank you!

Next time you scrub and boil your potatoes, rather than drinking the pot-water icy cold with an infused tea-bag to ramp up the flavour, you can try his suggestion.Do write us at [email protected] and tell us your observation. Shalom Maxine Demetrius.
