Gore on the go!

Jamaican racer impresses on German track

Jamaican race driver Tommi Gore experienced a weekend of contrasting emotions during the season opener of the 2025 ADAC GT4 Germany Championship at Oschersleben.

Gore, representing the AVIA W&S Motorsport team, started the weekend on a high note, delivering an impressive performance in Free Practice on Friday. Partnering with Israeli driver Ariel Gabbay in the No. 30 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, Gore was quick off the mark, posting a best lap time of 1:30.719. The lap was just 0.179 seconds behind the session’s fastest time, earning the duo a respectable fourth-place finish in a highly competitive 21-car field. AVIA W&S Motorsport showed their strength early on with three cars finishing in the top four during Free Practice.

“It was a good start to the weekend, and we were feeling confident going into the rest of the event,” Gore said, reflecting on the promising start. “Our pace was strong, and it was clear that the car was handling well. I was looking forward to the race.”

However, Sunday’s race brought a disappointing turn of events for Gore. After a promising start to the weekend, disaster struck on the opening lap of the race. Gore’s Porsche was involved in an unfortunate incident when it was rear-ended, sending him crashing into the barriers. The impact forced Gore to retire from the race early, leaving him with a result far from what he had hoped for.

Despite the disappointment, Gore remained upbeat and thankful for his safety. “It was a tough break, but I’m grateful that I walked away from the crash unscathed,” Gore commented after the race. “I’ve received so much support this weekend, and while the result wasn’t what we wanted, we’ll keep working hard and come back stronger.”

Though the race result didn’t reflect the potential Gore and his team showed in practice, the Jamaican driver remains optimistic about the rest of the season. 2025 marks his second full campaign in the ADAC GT4 Germany Championship, having impressed in his debut last season after joining midway through 2024. Gore is eager to build on his success, this time alongside his new teammate, Alon Gabbay.

“I’m excited to be back with AVIA W&S Motorsport this year,” Gore said. “Last season was a learning experience, but I’ve grown a lot since then. Now, with a full season ahead of us, we’re focused on making our way to the front. I’m proud to represent Jamaica on the international stage, and I’m looking forward to the next race.”

While Gore’s weekend was marred by an early exit, the promise of future success and the support of his team and fans continue to drive his determination for the rest of the season. The 2025 ADAC GT4 Germany Championship promises to be a competitive and thrilling campaign, and Gore will be looking to build on the potential he showed in Oschersleben.

“I’m thankful for this experience, and I’m ready to bounce back stronger,” Gore concluded. “This season is just getting started, and there’s plenty of time for more success.”
